Hamonic today has more value than Trouba I agree.

That said, not sure you will get a Taylor Hall for him......plus not sure you would want Hall, injury prone.

Hamonic may not want to leave if the playoff run continues

talking about trading Ryan McDonagh is really kind of crazy, I can't even entertain the thought seriously

It was a joke

Hamonic doesn't want to leave based on the success or failure of the Islanders. He has a family issue that he wants to be closer to home to deal with. Unless that changes, I think he's still going to have his heart set on being traded closer to home.

Do you think the Rangers would entertain trading Zuccarello? His NTC goes away July 1st. I know he's a fan favorite and a good player, but they seem to have limited options regarding players that can be traded AND have value.

you know, just going back to the last blog and the sentiment on twitter because Haqelin scored again last night....

this theory that Hagelin is better than Kreider is absolute B.S.

Kreider has scored in way bigger spots than the 3rd game of a 2nd round series like Hags did last night

in games 5 and 6 last year vs Washington, in a span of 4 Ranger goals, Kreider had 3 of them

Kreider actually showed up vs Tampa in the conference finals last year, I actually dont even remember Hagelin playing.

Yes the Rangers miss Hagelin, but I shudder when I think about what Kreider could do if he was in that Penguin offense

- jimbro83

Hagelin was missed this year but in this day and age, in the NHL, it is hard to justify paying a third liner four million dollars a season.

On a team, like the Pens, role players such as Hagelin, look great steadily because they are in their proper role and not used in a capacity where they will look out of place. Also, when you find chemistry with linemates like he has with Kessel and Bonino, it makes up for the lack of individual talent one player has.

He's a great skater, great on the forecheck, can score the odd goal but those that think he is better than Kreider are completely out to lunch.

Hamonic for Eberle straight up is a fair deal imo. Hamonic is not a player such as Seth Jones with franchise player potential, therefore he will not get a Ryan Johansen type of return such as Taylor Hall.

The contract is attractive but let's not get ahead of ourselves.

Let's talk about the college free agent the Rangers might sign, Drake Caggiula. Really hope the Rangers can woo this kid.

I think anything is possible with any of the players who don't have NTC clauses

but, the Rangers, trading McDonagh, their captain, just sounds waaaay to crazy to me.

The Rangers have had Brad Park, Brian Leetch and now Ryan McDonagh. These guys don't come around too often around here.

I don't think we can put McDonagh up there with these guys. Not that I would want McDonagh dealt but Zubov got traded and he turned out to be a borderline hall of fame player.

It would be a coup if they did. Makes up for the loss of a Duclair and in a hurry. This kid is a late bloomer but man did he bloom.

Yeah I don't see them trading McDonagh. Not only is he really good, but his cap his is incredibly low for what you get.

If the Rangers are able to get this kid and also sign Buchnevich and maybe Radulov, that would go a long way into mixing some talented new blood into the offense.

There is no need to blow this up. With some savvy moves, we can get back to contending.

Stay away from Radulov. Much rather sign McGinn from Anaheim along with Caggiula and Buchnevich. Swap those players out for essentially Moore, E. Staal and perhaps Nash and you have a much quicker and younger team.

I'm a huge fan of McGinn but at the end of the day he's really a 3rd liner that I think will be overpaid Hagelin-like money. Not sure I want to go that high with him.

one thing they have to address this summer is getting more right handed shots up front

Buchnevich is another lefty, still the only right handed forwards on the roster at this point are Stepan and Fast, and that was main reason why Fast got so much top 6 minutes and he obviously isn't a top 6 forward

Radulov is a locker room cancer and two cents short of a dollar. Chemistry killer, doesn't matter how talented he is.

McGinn is not a sure thing, I am aware of that, but if he can be signed on a fair deal it's worth a shot.

Forget Radulov then. I figured maybe on a $1M deal where he can be sent down to the AHL if he sucks is low risk high reward.

Some desperate team will offer him an incentive laden deal because he is so talented. Don't need that kind around here. The team might have flaws but they are tight knit and seem to get along across the board. With the right pieces in place the combination goes a long way.

I still think the only way the Rangers get into the Stamkos sweeps is by trading Stepan or Brassard, because I don't think either of Stepan or Brassard are 3rd line centers. Neither one is arguably a 1st line center either

Could always move either Brassard or Stamkos to wing.

then, without doubt, they'd have to move Nash, but that kind of goes without saying no matter what

I'd be all for it, I'd like to stick him on the wing where Fast was playing much of the year
