That was what I was getting at. Risto isn't "elite" yet, but all the signs point to him being at worst a #2/#3. Me, personally, I'd take the risk over a Hall type player, while elite now, plays a position where you can find quality players easier. I can see why some would choose the other way though.

We have no defense if Risto is traded, our rebuild will be a failure. Risto and Eichel are about as untouchable as they come. Edmonton and Buffalo just aren't good trade partners right now.

Neilson or Carrick alone could already be better than anything picked at #4. One is a former 1st rounder who's shown that he can play with the big boys and put up points and the other is a gem of a later pick who has size, grit and dominated the WHL in his +1 year.

Just because there are no household names here doesn't mean there isn't serious value.

Nielsen has far less potential than that, Kapanen is a 3rd line guy with 2nd line potential.

Sorry to break your bubble but a collection of meh prospects and a late round pick isnt going to get your the 4th overall pick. How do any of those assets help the oilers? They have similar prospects at that level to begin with, your trade offers nothing they dont already have and it just lessens their chance of adding an impact player to their roster.
