If you really want the Oilers #4 pick a trade will need to look like this
To Edmonton
Pysyk
Buffalo #1 8th overall
2 3rd rounders in this years draft
To Buffalo
Maybe Nurse or Reinhart
Edmonton #1 4th overall
I am not sure if Edmonton is frustrated enough with Nurse to trade him but so far it looks like it.
I know that Edmonton wants Pysyk the questions is who defense wise is young and could be a top 4 they can send back in the trade. - danwest58

What? Edmonton wants to trade Taylor Hall and the 4th pick for the 8th pick and some plugs. Okay. I get it. The purpose of Garth is to take turns trolling each popular fan base. |

Probably me..
But FWIW Buffalo is the closest thing to a Canadian fanbase..
I would gladly trade Vancouver fans for Sabres fans.. |

Ennis is hardly a "plug." I mean, I wish I too could see the technicolors that Garth dreams in, because it must be an absolutely amazing view, but Ennis is hardly a plug.
My brother's reply to this "trade:"
So we would trade essentially a super injury prone winger, an old ass defenceman, and a decent d-man for one of the best wingers in the game and somehow we move up in the draft in that scenario?!
And that's coming from a life-long Sabres fan.
Probably me..

As a Flames fan, Canucks fans are the reason I hate the Canucks. It's not even the players (well, other than that pile of trash Burrows). I hate the Canucks solely for their fans.
(Although their stupid glowing stanchions when they score doesn't help things any.) |

Not sure there could be any kind of Buffalo match with Edmonton. Both have a need for the same kind of player. A highly skilled #1 Dman that can make an immediate difference on the ice like a Karlsson, Burns, Doughty, Keith, Webber, Latang or Subban (probably not Subban).
Doughty and Keith are the most intriguing possibilities. It is clear that LA and Chicago are coming close to peaking out in terms of their long term competitive edge. They missed advancing beyond the first playoff round this year and LA missed playoffs last year. More important, both teams are caught in a nasty cap squeeze, they need to make a huge cap moves in order to do some rebuilding.
Getting anyone of those players noted above would be an expensive proposition for the Oilers. But the Oilers are the only team in the league that can put together a huge package for a #1 Dman that will log big minutes and make an immediate difference. Put Karlsson, Doughty or Burns on the back end of the Oiler attack and they become an instant contender. Draisaitl, Nurse and Edmonton's #1-4 (plus sweeteners) is an intriguing starting offer for any team. With McDavid in the line-up Edmonton likely becomes the #1 choice of UFAs looking to win a Cup over the next few years. Even if the Oil move some very good talent they can still back fill using UFAs to get the really good second and third line players needed for a Cup run.

Well in all fairness did you see the trades proposed by some buffalo fans on here? A couple of them are worse than Garth's |

I doubt Edmonton trades Hall alone for that package, let alone adds the better pick.
But why stop there Garf?
Buffalo should be able to get McJesus for quality players like Pysyk, Ennis et all. |

Oilers are looking for D, not another winger. |

OK. I'll play this game too.
How about Buffalo trades this years 1st and a 3rd, next years 1st, pysyk and ennis for Edmonton's 1st this year, Nurse and Reinhart.
Buffalo can throw in Rhuwedal or the Makarov if needed. |

But then again, Ennis' career high is 21 goals and 43 points - which pretty much puts him in the middle of the pack league wise/3rd liner. He's hardly a cornerstone for any team in the league. If he's a middling player on Buffalo what suggests he'd have added value in Edmonton. Just because Gaff looks at everything in Buffalo through his Sabres coloured glasses doesn't mean the league has too as well. |

For one Pysyk is a very good dman. He is not going to get alot of points but he makes great first pass and good defensively. If you look at sabres corsi when he is on the ice it is about 55/60mins. When he is off it is 47/60mins. He is alot better then Nurse and reinhart right now in their careers.
Trade
Pysyk, Girgensons, 8th in 2016 and 3rd in 2016
for
Eberle and 4th overall. |
