Dion was our best defensive defenseman and Polak was second best.

Lou traded them to make sure we finished last. Mission accomplished.

do you mean the players that spent the most time in the D zone?

When Leafs fans maintain that Corrado and Marincin are better players than Phaneuf and Polak, I really don't know what more I can say.

We finished in 30th place, but our defence isn't so bad.

Good for Marner. Let's hope he carries it over.

So, just got back from the doctors - regular check up kinda thing. Pretty much all finished and he asks me if I have any concerns...anything at all - even personal.
I finally confess that I have trouble making friends.

He immediately replies: "You're suffering from low self esteem...you dumb piece of poop".

Who are the top prospects for 2017? I say we tank again.
- Matthews_Auston

my guess... no Stamkos, then no goalie upgrade.

very tankish. thumbsup:

except I have to watch Bernier crap it up again for a whole season and crush the soul of the young guys.

He's franking soul-crushing.

I was at the home opener last year. FFS, first shot, and it's a classic Bernier blooper.

I still don't know how that franking puck went in. And to give up the first goal to Patches? Double-frank!

I honestly would rather re-sign Reimer than go with Bernier next year.

Don't give me the poop about how Bernier played better at the end of the year.

Defence was better without Dion and Polak.

Don't even joke about Bernier. He's just going to play through his final year and (frank) off.

I'm still terrified to give up on Gardiner.

Although every time I actually watch him play, I realize more and more that he has no hockey sense whatsoever.

I've said it before, and I'm going to say it again:

The guy grew up with such superior skating skills to anyone he played against, he never had to learn to play smart hockey.

Sadly, that doesn't cut it anymore at the NHL level.

- Atomic Wedgie

yup... so assuming your analysis is correct or at least largely correct.. it is time to decide whether Gardiner can be a top 4 guy under Babcock or just a offensive specialist.

I think rather than moving Kadri + a pick for Trouba... I would suggest Gardiner and pick or prospect for Trouba. Gardiner could provide the Jets with some thing they don't really have...

So was defence.

So was goaltending.

They were 25th in the league in goals against last year.

So please do not suggest that they were good on the other side of the puck.

They sucked in every aspect of the game.

They finished last for a reason.

Many reasons, actually.

- Atomic Wedgie

Actually defense was a huge positive last year for the way Babcock likes to play the game. Whether or not that is good, who knows

Franking CRA.

Mr. and Mrs. Wedgie expecting a huge tax return this year. We file early.

CRA comes back and says we need to prove our kids actually did sports activities - so we can get $50 bucks back each from them.

OK, fine, no problem. Not quite sure why this would raise alarm bells with you - we've filed this tax credit every franking year you've had them. But fine, I fax them in.

And we wait. No answer from them.

Mrs. Wedgie phones them today - it's going to take an additional 8 weeks to process our return.

Keep in mind they've already processed it in full - all they needed was verification of a couple of child health credits - which amounts to $100 more on our return.

So why the frank would it take an additional 8 weeks when all they have to do is stamp "Approved" on our already-processed form?

According to the CRA, they do not use a system that ranks the priority or simplicity of tasks. Whenever anything happens, it goes to the back of the line.

You think I'm a sarcastic beeeyotch? You should meet Mrs. Wedgie when poop like this happens. I can't wait to hear how she is dealing with the supervisor that will eventually (or not) call her back.

- Atomic Wedgie

They mailed me a demand for 87 bucks on a tax return from 5 years ago at the time with a deadline...they mailed it after the deadline they put on it...
