Probably right - That was just what I would like to see happen.
To get someone like Trouba, you would have to include JVR, I think. No one wants the qty for quality type trades anymore - especially for someone as young as Trouba. Don't think Ptt 1st plus our 2nd level prospects get that done.

Kadri is a waste at 3C, IMO. If we sign Stamkos and Matthews is our 2C, I think Bozak fits in nicely as a 3C and use Kadri to gain that D we need. But, I agree, probably won't happen.

Tanner thinks that Marancin and Harrington are guaranteed NHL regular defencemen.

OK, fine, no problem. Not quite sure why this would raise alarm bells with you - we've filed this tax credit every franking year you've had them. But fine, I fax them in.

And we wait. No answer from them.

Mrs. Wedgie phones them today - it's going to take an additional 8 weeks to process our return.

Keep in mind they've already processed it in full - all they needed was verification of a couple of child health credits - which amounts to $100 more on our return.

So why the frank would it take an additional 8 weeks when all they have to do is stamp "Approved" on our already-processed form?

According to the CRA, they do not use a system that ranks the priority or simplicity of tasks. Whenever anything happens, it goes to the back of the line.

And it took a letter of why I needed a correction and copies of the assessments for the returns in question, like they don't have that stuff on file.

of for sure.. it is interesting Matthews has basically outscored all his comparable at the same age/levels .. Kane, Eichel, Kessel .. and they are all within a few months age..

True CRA story:

After the birth of our first child, I took 5 weeks of parental leave. It's a weird system - you actually go on EI for those weeks.

So I dutifully file the paperwork. They of course lose it.

So about 8 weeks later I lose my franking mind when I haven't seen any money in my bank account. I go to the offices at Yonge and St. Clair, take a number, wait.

I finally see an officer, which immediately gets bumped up to a supervisor for some reason. I sit in her little cube office, and explain my story, emphasizing that I did everything right, I filed my paperwork (they have it on their computer, but just didn't process it).

We get into a passive-aggressive little tiff. I have the thinnest veneer of civility. She mumbles something about they will look into it, keep filing my bi-weekly forms.

I sneer back at her that I've already gone back to work - 3 weeks ago - and have already notified the CRA of this - can't believe she didn't read that in my file.

She blushes, says that she will look into it right away.

Which was a huge franking mistake on her part.

I thanked her, told her I would patiently wait in her office whiile she "looked into it right away" and gave her the body language that I would not be leaving from my chair.

She got up, disappeared for about 20 minutes, came back, apologized and said that the payments would be made immediately.

Best franking day of my life.

Marancin was a castoff from the Edmonton Franking Oilers. Can we agree their defence is franking horrid?

So he can't make the Oilers' defence, and you agree with Tanner that he's a fulltime NHL defenceman, anywhere in the league?

Or Harrington? Averaged about 13 minutes a game in very, very limited action with the Leafs before suffering a season ending injury.

I'm curious. Does MLSE offer him a scouting job or something to help him retire? Is that a thing you can do?

Or better yet, Shanahan calls up the folks at Bell or Rogers to see if they have a spot open for a young good looking analyst, and promises a better team for it.

Our defense is good from afar but far from good.

From a distance it doesn't look to bad with some good prospects in the pool and couple good to great young guys in the lineup.

Once you get up close and take a look at the roster right now the defense lineups are terrible.

I believe Edmonton is very bad at player evaluation beyond a top pick.
He was picked up for 4th, the results after Hunwick was injured were positive.. can he fill a 5 or 6 role...I think so at this point.

Harrington, not enough time for anyone to say, being included in a trade for Kessel tells us nothing.
