My Nephew - dynamite Dman that got drafted to OHL and said no thanks. Big kid, strong skater, great head and was on track...my brother in law was pissed off big time!!!
My son is 9 (turning 10 soon) and same, big, strong dman with a great head for the game. AAA hockey player and is a hockey fanatic. If he could get a US scholarship out of hockey some day, I would be happy as pig in sh*t!! Till than, RESP's get a lot of my money. - Cooshie
My colleague's son just won an award for best dman in Ontario Jr A or someting like that. |

I played with a guy like that. Not sure how good he could have been though.
At whatever age it was I was marginally at a AAA level. I like 98% of the other kids busted my ass doing the team summer dryland training, working and working and I only made it once.
This guy didn't show up for one session, didn't come to most practices but my god, he could skate circles around anyone and always seemed to have the puck on a string. Then he just walked away because he was bored of it... - markmark
That's more or less my son's experience.. tons of pressure to train this and practice that.. and A lot o for wasted time in lame practicss. |

I can't even imagine what it's like today... for me as a kid who could keep up with the game but had no delusions about playing as a career, that higher tier training regiment and expectation really soured me to the game for a while and took all the fun out of it. |

I know nothing at all either, but I'll break it down based on my lack of knowledge, because it's fun.
55% Tampa (change is scary, they get to talk to him until July 1st, they are in the 2nd round, they are more legit to win the cup now than the Leafs may be for a very long time depending on how prospects pan out)
30% Toronto (Mom's home cooked meals, he makes lower net salary but never pays for a thing for the rest of his life, petition to induct him to legend's row starts circulating immediately)
10% New York (Party with Derek Jeter and Broadway Joe, good hockey market, gets to play with some alright players)
5% Everybody else - TheMussel

I think as dads, we can all say we wish our son's (for those that play hockey) could do what luke Schenn has!!

I honestly still think we bring him back cheap as a 3rd pairing guy. Some may disagree, but I think Babcock can do wonders for him. Kid came in at 18, and all the pressure was on him from the get go. Thrown into sharks..
not saying he's the greatest, because his skating is terrible, but as a 3rd pairing guy with Hunwick, he could be ok, especially on our Leaf team.
Another is bringing back Polak.
I do think we sign a "vet" dman at a cheap price. Highly doubt our top 6 will be Rielly/Gardiner/NZ/Hunwick & 2 young/marlie kids.. but Percy should get a legit shot (for once) |

Can't bring back all the mediocre past dman or you just end up with a mediocre defensive corp.
Schenns and Polaks are not hard to find.
We need a Trouba!!! kadri + Pitt first for Trouba. Stamkos - Matthews - Bozak top 3. Trouba/Rielly 1st pairing. |

I doubt we'll trade Kadri now, or at least for a while..
I think if we're trading for D help, it'll be JVR, or a package involving 1 of Kapanen/Brown/Percy + PIT 1st , etc. |

(frank) that.
It makes no sense to bring back mistakes just so Babs can attempt to reclaim them. |

I think we're gonna hold onto brown but for sure Kapanen, Percy, and I'd maybe throw Leivo and Leipsic as potential trade bait as well.
