Part of me wants to rage on NHL for not nominating Jack Eichel for the Calder. Other part of me laughs at the intellectual dishonesty of it

Eichel never accepted a participation award in his life. He earned his respect, accolades by outworking, out preparing all of his opponents

Looks like Pitts is going to win game 3.
I'd like to see Washington win the cup. Also, I'm thinking if Pittsburgh loses this series it will provide us with a better pick? I forget all the rules for placement now...

Ideally they would've made the playoffs and lost in the first round. 1st could be as late as 30th overall if they win the Cup.

I honestly dont care if we only get 1 pick in the entire draft as long as we get Matthews.. nothing else matters to me anymore.

Im a little worried that i wont be able to contain my excitement over the summer.. i might wind up on anxiety meds or some poop..

Yeah. Imagine if we end up with the 30th and 31st picks lol. Just gotta get the 32nd and we can be like Boston last year and stay up for 3 in a row. Hopefully our braintrust doesn't go off the deep end and draft totally off the board though.

Who does everyone favor to win the cup now? I think it could be a team out of the East this year, maybe Pittsburgh or Washington. How good is Tampa without Stammer? Do they still have a possible winning team? I think the Isles might rely too much on Tavares.

Still some good teams in the West too though. Maybe it is finally SJS' year? Blues?
Honestly, I think it might be Pittsburgh, but I hope not due to how it affects us.

Cup winner picks 30th. Finalist picks 29th. Winner of the 4 divisions get 27,28,29,30 so I have to assume that means playoff winners of divisions but the wording isn't clear.

After that it goes regular season standings. Pitts finished 4th overall behind WAS, DAL and STL. One of DAL/STL will be eliminated this round. If Pitt loses this round that means the Final 4 pick behind us and either DAL/STL.

If Pit gets eliminated here we pick 25th. If they move on it'll be 30, 29, 28 or 27 depending whats happens in the next two rounds.

I don't imagine it matters much between 25 and 30 in this draft. Talent perception seems to be pretty scattered.

Yeah - at this point who cares were the pens pick ends up. The difference between 1 and 4 mattered. 24 and 28...not so much.

Yeah at that point it comes to team preference. It's still always nice to have the higher pick just in case one of those other teams has your player in mind.

Apparently... and nobody from the Leafs said this but llast year when they traded down twice they were targeting Travis Dermott anyway and figured he could be available later.

Thanks Njuice!

Yeah, if Hunter is as good as he seems, it may not matter too much where Pitts finishes now.

How will the hockey world react when they see Phil Kessel raising the cup this year?
