I was going to say that it isn't surprising Panarin and Zaitsev were so impressive to him considering he was on one leg and one of the worst players in the KHL during his one year stint. I'd imagine he was really shocked at how fast all these guys blowing by him are!

All I said was he could be our Ghost next year. Just my prediction ...especially on a Leaf team where he'll get top 4 mins & top PP mins , I don't see why he can't AT LEAST come close to what Ghost accomplished last year.

He needs to be on an ELC. He'll ask for a big raise after this year. Leafs likely already agreed to this on principle if he cracks the Leafs lineup and plays well.

Since he's 24, he's required to sign at least a 1 year ELC. Chances are he signed on for only 1 year so he can shoot for a big raise for next season.

They played well at the end of last year, for rookies.. Zaitsev will step in and be our 2/3 guy easy.. Mo and Gards are getting more responsible every season.
