I got Marner Matthews Nylander on a line somehow some way
MnM line - pinksocked
Looks sweet. I have a feeling Will Nye will become our #2 C eventually though, with Matthews as #1.
Next season or 2 seasons from now I would not be surprised to see a first line of JVR, Matthews, Marner.
Probably Kadri will be #1 C next year though. At this point though, I think we will eventually see him traded, moved to the wing, or made the #3 C. He could center a sick third line with guys like Komarov and Soshnikov. |

I love that dirty little commie.
In a couple years the Leafs are going to be impossible to defend.. |

Kadri is versatile, I bet he could play wing now |

Soshnikov looks like he could be a great pickup from what I've seen so far.
We can only hope so. It does seem like we've got a lot of skilled young players, although we'll have to see just how many can translate their AHL/junior success to the NHL. Don't want to sound like an Oilers fan talking about how amazing our team will be now...But its hard not to be excited at this point. |

It's definitely exciting that the Leafs have more than just a small handful of good/projected to be good prospects.
It means we can be excited that a few will pan out to be good to great NHL players. |

Marner-scoring, playmaker that likes the puck on his stick.
Nylander-scoring, playmaker that likes the puck on his stick.
These two awesome dudes will be on different lines feeding:
Stamkos-sniper who needs a playmaker.
Matthews-scoring center who needs a playmaker.
JVR-scoring winger who needs a playmaker.
Brown, Lupul, Hyman, Vesey-scoring/grinding wingers who retrieve the puck, dish to a playmaker and then get in position for a goal.
All 3 of these lines have a playmaker, scoring center, grinding winger.
JVR, Stamkos, Nylander
Brown, Matthews, Marner
Sosh, Kadri, Hyman
(I know I've posted this a few times but I really like seeing it...in a giggly school girl way.)
Leafs may finally have a legit top nine with perfect combinations not like before...center no winger/s...one winger no center or other winger...man it's been frustrating for a long time.

We know Nylander is legit.. Matthews will be too.. Hard to imagine Marner won't be. |

Would Leafs ever consider trading top pick? Lamoriello: "I don't think there's any thought in our mind right now of anything like that"
Disappointing..... Really though the mooks on here wanting to trade it were right. - burn
trading the 1st overall has got to be the dumbest proposal i have seen on HB
and thats saying a lot |

a soshnikov kadri komarov third line would be great.
high energy and can put the puck in the net
something us leaf fans arent used to from a third line |

(and Brown or Hyman or Vesey could step in if Komarov loses his scoring touch again.)
We could even have a grinding/scoring 4th line too.

Totally agree Underhill.
I actually think Marner, Kadri, and Nylander have one thing (at least) in common with Kessel. They all need the puck to be performing at their best. This is why Kadri didn't work with Kessel, and why Kessel didn't even gel well with Crosby or Malkin. He likes to have the puck and set up the play, whether that means shooting or passing.
This is part of why I expect if we keep Kadri he will eventually be #3 C behind Nylander and Mathews. |

I think our centre depth will look like Kadri, Matthews, Bozak, Helm. (If he doesn't sign with Detroit I'm willing to bet Babcock pushes to pick him up.)
If, IF Stamkos signs in Toronto then I would say Stamkos, Kadri, Matthews, Helm. Bozak gets bumped to another team. But I think the original one is more likely. |

yeah... scoring by committee instead of just having a couple lines that can score....it would be nice to see for once

You always hear people say you need your bottom six to help out with the scoring if your top lines have an off night. That 3rd line would be a huge irritation to other teams and still dangerous to score. They'd be a great third line imo. |

i dont think its that simple
the lines will be carved out based on who plays best with who... for instance... i would expect matthews to be lined up with a couple wingers who have been in the league for a few years already.
lets say marner makes the jump... you dont put him and matthews together... not at first anyways |

I honestly don't see us keeping Bozak more than 1 more season. I won't be surprised if he gets moved at the draft, in the offseason, or next TDL. |

i agree.. and really not a very expensive one either
just barely over 8 million for the entire line, most of it kadri's contract ... thats manageable. |
