i don't understand why people think that since we get matthews, that stamkos won't be coming here. it is completely mind-boggling. so without another future franchise changing player, stamkos comes, yet he wants to win. but now that we get matthews and he is a future franchise changing player, which brings them that much closer to being able to win, absolutely a no go on the stamkos front? completely idiotic if you ask me. if anything, this would make it even more likely that he is coming to toronto

Where? I lived there for 5 years.. mostly Red Deer.. but Whitecourt and Calgary also.

understandable, but i don't think that's what they are saying. they are saying stamkos won't ave any interest in coming now.

i do understand the cap implications, but i don't think it will be as much of an issue as people think it will be. the cap will continue to rise, and we need to focus more of our efforts into not paying 3rd and 4th liners like they are 1st or 2nd liners. you look at chicago and their 3rd and 4th liners are making around 2 million or less a year. look at toronto, and we have guys making 4 to 5 million playing on our 3rd and 4th lines. once their contracts end and get replaced with cheaper options, we can afford to play our top 6 like top 6 guys.
