I could be wrong but isn't his mock drafts usually pretty close to accurate. But i do not see him dropping below 7

He's usually close, but throws a reach or two out there. Chychrun dropping that far is the big one this year.

Maybe Shero moves up a takes Nylander. We are dangerously thin at the RW position.

There it is. Mr. Button has us taking Keller.

What a strange mock. I guess he takes the U-18 very seriously as Jost and Brown are both above Keller. Can't say I would mind though

Where is that Dineen kid supposed to go ? Might be a good second round pick up ? He is from NJ playing in North Bayand seems to be a pretty Promising dman so we could restock on our d cupboards and get a hometown kid while not blowing a high first on a D

Seems as though you're way ahead of me on learning the draft

no... he overvalues certain guys and undervalues other guys

while he's actually pretty good at scouting players, he does not represent any form of consensus. It's MacKenzie's rankings that closely resemble how the draft turns out.

No interest in moving up to #4 because the difference between #4 and #11 is small this year.

That's why Edmonton are open to trading... they know that the pick isn't worth that much. There's no Draisaitl at #4 this year, no Strome... it falls off after three. I think you can potentially get a steal at #8, 9, 10, or 11, but it's really fuzzy from 4 to 13.

I think Dubois might go fourth, Nylander fifth, and Tkachuk might fall to 7 or 8... I also fear that the teams ahead of the Devils are going to grab all the forwards and the three best picks at 11 will be defensemen or guys you could get at 14-16.

I don't mind Gauthier at all. Also, I'm not worried if we pick a dman. What we are really lacking is a franchise forward, and most likely that won't be available where we are picking. You look at the teams left in the playoffs, the ones that don't have a franchise forward all have a very strong top 4 and if we put that in front of Corey we'll be a very tough team to beat. Those D prospects that will be available all seem like good prospects.

Agreed. Shero has to take the best skater available, regardless of the position. New Jersey is known right now for having a good young D core however, that core isn't necessarily putting up much in terms of numbers. They are better at keeping the puck out of their own net rather than putting it in the oppositions, with the exception of Severson, who I truley hope Shero doesn't move. As much as I'd like a foward in the first round here, if one of these Dmen were to fall to 11, that would most likely mean that a couple of the fowards I like have already been taken.
