You can tell from the interview right after the lottery he did look disappointed.. but thats understandable ..he is from Arizona.. grew up a fan of the yotes... Same deal for Mcdavid ... I guess radio needs to run with it

Of course he was disappointed. It was 3am and he waited to not get drafted by the team he was hoping for. He has two months to get used to the idea, and I'm sure the projections on endorsement deals from his agent will help smooth the transition.

Here's my take on the Draft Lottery.

There should be a 3-tiered set of odds for the 14 non - playoff teams.

Best odds: Teams that have neither made the playoffs nor had a lottery pick in the past 3 seasons. Rank those teams in terms of reg season record.

2nd best odds: Teams that have won a lottery pick in the past 3 seasons, again ranked by record.

3rd best odds: Teams that have had a lottery pick AND made the playoffs within the past 3 seasons. Rank them by their record.

It's all new players (Laich, Carrick, Michalek, Greening, etc) have raved about since they got here.

Eh, a lot of heated reaction. We didn't have the luck of getting the number one pick 2 years in a row.

Going to be fun now having Eichel V Matthews discussion instead of "Who's tank was tankier, and who's had more honor."

Still a lot of work left to be done. Take it from someone who went through it already. Matthews will be great, but he doesn't solve everything.
