It's not so much that any particular team "should" have won it, the odds were just extremely high that anyone but the worst team would win. It's Team X vs the field type of theory.

What keeps me up at night is the Leafs have way too much talent now. It's oozing out of our orifices.

Can you imagine being a 20 year old elite superstar, and knowing you'll never get off the Marlies because the Leafs are so fantastic now?

Not screaming that the team with the highest odds to win actually won, it's just the "odds" are that the team that should win - the team that "needs" the pick more than anyone else - has an 80% chance to not get the #1 pick. It's not comparing teams against each other individually, it's the combined odds of Leafs vs anyone else.

I have never been hostile to the Leafs. I have been hostile to those who refused to do a rebuild the right way. The ones that always traded away draft picks for false hope. I think the new guys are doing a great job.

I saw a decent post recently in regards to a change to the draft. Worst 3 or 5 teams get a shot at #1, then a few more get added for #2, then all non-playoff teams for #3.

Let's be real - even though the odds are minuscule, a team just missing the playoffs but winning the lottery would be ridiculous

I dont know that there is a perfect solution to the tanking "Problem" ..

i think I prefer that if a team gets #1, they cant win it again for say 3 or 5 years. pass it around a little.

Too frankin funny. Oil lose year after year, no problems. Leafs finish last one year, and we were tanking and it is out of control..

maybe hold a lottery lottery
dont announce how the order will be determined... just come up with several scenarios on how you get the order..and then hold a lottery to determine which one you use

Would have been crazy if any team won to be honest. Nobody was easily the favourite. 2 other teams moved up. Canucks went from 5th to 7th
