Garth's blog is pure comedic gold!
Too bad they locked it.

Does he ever think before he spews out his nonsense?

He's the missing link.... Leafs lacking talentless goofs who can't play in the league. Leafs NEED him more than anyone/anything.

Disagree.
Leafs most pressing need is "murrency".
Tinordi, of course, is a close 2nd.

He's still a total project BUT, I had forgotten that he and Matthews were working magic together in the US program. Maybe some chemicals there in the future.

It also suggests that relative to position, Keller is being WAY underrated. Would love to move up and snag him with the Pitts puck

It's just insane. Is he even a relevant prospect at this point? His point production has ECHL written all over it.

I have no idea.

When people say it was rigged because the Leafs had an 80% chance not to win, i don't think they realize the other teams ranged from 86.5-98.5% not to win either.

The draft was a win-win-win in my opinion. First two teams that have gone about business the right way, namely the Leafs with management hires like Lamoriello, Lemaire, Babcock, Dubas, Shanahan, Mark Hunter and Cliff Fletcher and the Jets with a 6-2-2 finish to prove they would not stoop to tanking like the Sabres did last year. Two good future Canadian franchises with excellent fan bases. Well done NHL. Also - it was nice to see the Oilers and their inept and incompetent management team that includes McTavish and Lowe for reasons unknown - surely not based on past performance get a nice kick in the ass. A third Canadian team for the top three namely Montreal or Calgary would have been nice for the third. But I am fairly certain the most NHL fans were happy to see the Oilers shut out. Maybe they can trade two or three of their first overall picks for an NHL caliber defenceman or Goaltender.

its really dumb..and some people have a hard time with probabilities.... you can take anything and make it sound good

the top 10 teams had an 88% chance of picking #1 and that happened

It's not so much that any particular team "should" have won it, the odds were just extremely high that anyone but the worst team would win. It's Team X vs the field type of theory.

I heard a great line a while back:

Internet debates are like soccer. A whole lot of back and forth, but in the end, nothing really happens.

sure...if you are making a bet you take the field at 80% ... but dont call foul when the 20% comes up

And what these idiots don't take into account is how many times Leafs fans ran the simulator, which had a huge effect on shifting the odds in our favour.

I think it was agreed they should throw that pick away b/c the Leafs will have Cap issues in 2021.

Nah, it's stupid to call foul at all, just ridiculous to be the team that "needs" the pick most has such a low chance at it.

I saw a decent post recently in regards to a change to the draft. Worst 3 or 5 teams get a shot at #1, then a few more get added for #2, then all non-playoff teams for #3.

Let's be real - even though the odds are minuscule, a team just missing the playoffs but winning the lottery would be ridiculous

Then every New York State Powerball lottery must be fixed, because the odds of anyone winning it are 1 in 292,201,338, meaning the odds are 292,201,337 to 1 that the guy who actually won it wouldn't have won it.

Fixed!

I have never been hostile to the Leafs. I have been hostile to those who refused to do a rebuild the right way. The ones that always traded away draft picks for false hope. I think the new guys are doing a great job.
