Ntc are the same, if they have the protection in their contract it must be honoured. Bozak, mihaleck, greening, lupul, Horton have ntc.

Hoepfully they don't have to protect Horton as he's not playing.

I mean, EVERYBODY squawks about how skilled and over the top he is, which is undeniable, but apparently he's not good enough to centre a first line ?
I know this year was only a small sample, but man he sure didn't look out of place, and that's a huge understatement.

Trade the first with Columbus. Our 1st & bernier or Blozak, for their pick & Justin Falk + a pick/prospect to give Rielly his partner, assuming the $ add up etc.

That's a pretty sick top 6, a heat seeking third, & an excellent 4th line forward corps for years to come.

If anything, Laine has a risk of panning out worse then expected (average skating), while Matthews will be a #1C in NHL for sure.
I for one am very happy Leafs will draft Matthews and are not forced to makea choice at 2 between Laine and Puljujarvi.

Based on your thoughts and your spelling ability

A word of caution. Matthews missed the last draft by only a few days. He is the old man of this draft. Yakupov was the last "older" player taken at #1. Couturier was an older player, led draft speculation going into his last year but stumbled on closer examination.

The Finns are deserving of some attention. All of them will be playing in the world championship and it will be worth the time to make some comparisons.
