I keep thinking Elliott is going to stop being so damn elite, but every game he keeps bringing it. Blues are going to be hard to beat 4 times with Elliott playing so well. |

I looked it up earlier in the season. Over the past 5 years Elliott has (statwise) been one of the best in the league. #1 in gaa (2.01), #4 in sv% (.925), 69.3% wins and #2 in shut outs with 25, despite playing just over half the minutes most starters get. A lot of it is the team but he's proven he can play well enough to win with this team.

This is the truth, Niemi was the beneficiary of a strong Hawk team. He is just as inconsistent as Lehtonen and really does not matter who plays. Blues will beat either one of them down and win the series.
To say Niemi is better than Lehtonen is insane, most would take Kari if they had a choice. |

Where's the basis for this? He had one bad period. LOL.
Pretty terrible write up. |

"Niemi isn't a goalie who is about the numbers. He is just a winner."
That doesn't make sense, he lost last night. Please use logic. |

Totally disagree with Eklund on this one, sometime I wonder how much this guy even knows about hockey?? Some of the things he writes really show how much he really know. Lehtonen is a better goalie than Niemi, plain and simple. That being said they have both been hot and cold all year and team defence can take part of the blame. |

Doesn't matter to me who Dallas chooses to go with. Right now Elliott is playing better than either. If I was Ruff I'd probably stick with Niemi, based solely on experience.
Anyone else think the ice was terrible for both games in Dallas? I know they mentioned it in game 1, but today looked as bad or worse. Excited to see what this series looks like on better ice. Just hope it doesn't give the Stars an advantage. They are fast enough as it is. - Hull16
yes cause they skate a lot faster on Bad ice ?
And both team are not skating on the same ice either... |

Don't think you read what I wrote properly. I'm saying the bad ice is slowing down an already fast Stars team. Better ice would likely favor their style of play. Yes both teams play on the same sheet of ice. What exactly did you not understand? |
