100% true. He could be hyping up the two in hopes that EDM takes one and Juolevi is left up for grabs, who knows. I am really hoping we land Dubois though. Seeing Craig Buttons mock draft with us taking Brown does not sound appealing. Dubois or Juolevi would be my first choice.

Brown isn't a bad pick its ballsy for sure but not the choice I make. High risk high reward.

Pretty much said and actually said are 2 different stories. It could all be smoke screens and he has a trade in the works.

Listening to the interview, it really does seem like it is between the 2 FWs. He doesn't think the D men are #1 caliber.

he pretty much said this morning it is either Dubois or Tkachuk on TSN 1040

Best news I've heard in awhile, both will be great additions.

I think too many people fixate on Dubois being listed as a LW on some sites, he plays both positions and IMO has the potential to be a damn good 1a/b center a la Jeff Carter

Hi,

Notes from today's Benning interview, more on Pierre-Luc Dubois and...expect Ryan Miller back next season...

Brian Burke not happy with the "tankers"

Burke said: "Unfortunately we have had to go to a lottery because of the conduct of certain teams. OK, we're stuck with the lottery. Is this the most equitable way?

"If you're a team that picks first overall, you shouldn't be allowed to pick the first overall for some specified period of three years or five years, whatever . . . You could still pick four or five, still get a good player but you can't get rewarded for continued failure or continued luck."

- LeftCoaster

Agreed. The only exception I'd make is that the team can only win the 1st overall if it finished 30th, and can't get a top 3 in 3 consecutive years. Team could get a top 3 player in 2 consecutive years, but then would at best get the 4th overall pick.

I hope so too, but EDM may take him and trade possible RNH + for defense.

maybe someone is more enamored with the name Tkachuk... (pronounced in the original ukrainian - ka-chook)....

I agree you only move Tanev in a deal where you know you are getting an upgrade at that position. Moving him to get another first isn't worth it unless we are talking top 5 and we know that isn't happening.

Canucks should offer up Tanev and CBJ 2nd for the Oilers first in this draft. they need D help. who better than the guy some people here think is the best d on the Nux.

then Nux take both kachook and dubois.... in 2 years time they both start on the third line.

Both Jost & Fabbro don't overly impress me, maybe it's a BCJHL mindset. Scouts think otherwise, that's what counts.

BCJHL is a stepping stone to go the NCAA route.
Don't underestimate it.
