Stamkos - Nighthawk
Now that we are not picking top 3 it's a very real possibility JB makes an offer...wouldn't be shocked if he did |

This has become a serious TO Troll Fest! Just me, but I don't think the consensus #1 pick is that great nor do I think the center of the universe is that appealing to him. #2 and beyond is a different story though. #Karma |

Matthews isn't considered a generational talent like Crosby OV or even McJesus. He's not a franchise changer...an excellent piece yes but not generational. It's what TO does to surround Matthews and Maybe Stamkos with the right ingredients. TO has a long hill to climb |

He did touch on the good things.

Matthews shouldnt be compared to either player...can you imagine what the media does there if he struggles in his rookie year?

I hope Dubois is our pick at 5. We have less D prospects sure, but we still need more up front. Dubois is my pick outside the top 3 wherever he lands. Looks to be not just skilled but really focused and determined. Can easily be developed into a top center imo. Kid will be huge too. |

Really? From most of what I've read, he would have gone second last year. Better than Eichel, not as good as Jesus. |

There's enough quantity on D to be optimistic. Between Pedan, Stecher, Subban and Tryamkin you're gonna get something. Maybe that Cagguila(sp) signs too. Plus there are a couple CHL prospects that some people are getting a bit higher on.
There isn't much in the forward pipelines right now outside of Boeser. I guess Rodin hasn't quite debuted yet but he's 25. Hopefully McCann get some serious minutes in the AHL this year.
Not taking a forward is probably a mistake. |

Third is what i've read all day long.
Last year the feelings were Eichel is the best player since Crosby, McDavid the best since Lemieux. |

There's probably not a top pairing Dman in the bunch. Considering D usually take longer to develop, i'd rather grab D and let them grow and fill in with forwards afterwards. We're going to get about 5 years of cracks at this. |

You never know with Dmen man. Some people thought Karlsson wouldn't amount to much and that Rundblad was a better bet. Subban, Keith, Weber, Byfuglien were all outside the first round. Sometimes your high pick Dman turns into Schenn, Hickey or Bogosian instead of Pietrangelo. |
