I don't know much about Dubois admittedly...but (today) i go
Tkatchuk
Juloevi
Chychrun
Dubois
Sergachev - dbot
That is a pretty good order. Too bad we don't really need wingers. |

Rather keep McCann. He's going to get better and better and has an attitude too. - bazz
I would hope that he would continue to improve, but not many believe he will develop into a 1C.
RNH should be able to be a 1C, especially with the right linemates (boesser, JV) |

Dubois plays center and wing Carol. Benning said he would groom him into a center if chosen. Great blog! |

With the Oilers in the 4 spot it wouldn't really matter if there were a clear cut #1 D in the draft, he wouldn't get by them. |

Tyson Jost could end up being one of the better players past the top three? - LeftCoaster
Yes. He is playing with Boeser next year. Going to kill it |

Dubois plays centre - A_SteamingLombardi
He's listed as LW. Can play center and plays centre is a pretty big difference when you're looking for a #1 Center.
We need LW as well, but if we are picking between lw and d , shouldn't we go with high end dman? |

Didn't the odds have us picking 5th all along?
Don't we usually talk about Top5 when discussing the draft?
We'll get a good player.
- dbot
That's what kills me... The new system is supposed to discourage tanking... Canucks did not tank and were punished.
Toronto tanked on purpose and walked away with the ace.
Either the NHL is corrupt or extremely inept.
As much as I used to be convinced it was the former... It's definitely the latter. |

Any idea if the 2017 draft will be good and have a couple of franchise players? Hopefully we can at least win that one - mauryballstein
It's a soft draft. No Matthews or Laine. That being said, things can change in a hurry as it's difficult to project 16 year olds |

Id like to trade hansen, mccann for firsts if we could get in the 10-20 range and grab a dman and big c/LW assuming we take dubois at 5. - mauryballstein
which is why I suggested Habs #9 to take sergachev. J Subban may have big value to the habs in a package....
Theres so many intangibles....depends on who oilers pick....if its Joulevi then do we take tkachuk at 5....Maybe they take Tkachuk and we take dubouis or chychrun...maybe they pick chychrun and we have the pick of all 4 of them.
Personally I would like an extra pick or 2... 6-15 range. Take a forward and a D or 2. |

Take best player if all things are equal in the 1st, dubois is ranked higher by almost everyone over the dmen. Majority of good forwards are all 1st rounders where as a good dman can come from any round it seems.
Hopefully he is still there |

I think we can still get a quality dman in the 2nd round.
I want dubois at 5 or trade back a few spots and grab brown and hopefully get an extra 2nd.

Dubois, nylander, Tkachuk, juolevi, brown. Still tons of talent available at number 5.
If edm takes juolevi then we have a potential future number 1 in Dubois (who might be in the top 3 most all around 'ready' of the kids). If edm takes Dubois and sells some of their younger forwards in the summer, we get a damn good defenceman in juolevi. No need to be sad people =) - Codes1087
cant see anyone picking nylander over tkachuk dubois brown.... hes too light n weak.
I really think our best bet is to take multiple picks if JB can swing it. We have some assets that wouldnt be such a big loss if the return is premium players... |

Just got back from the park with our two grandsons. It's hard telling a 4 yr old he can't play baseball with the 12 year olds. I needed some of Scoobys wine.
Beautiful day |

Boils down to offense in my books.
Still a fan of trading down & pick 1 of the 3 D or Brown or Jost. |

So. Toronto should have held onto Phaneuf, Clarkson, Kessel? Not traded spare parts at the deadline? Played their #1 Goalie with the sub .900 save percentage? Magically avoided injury to JVR... or was the surgery fake also? Maybe the Lupul injury was faked, except that, he has been injured pretty much every year of his career.
I love how people spent years telling us how Kessel and Phaneuf were overrated and overpaid.
So, we finally get a management group that recognizes the roster was horrible and going nowhere and they made changes. Now they are guilty of tanking.
Sorry, that they didn't consciously decide to make a run at 12th and continue to be the laughing stock of the league.
I can't think of one move Toronto made that was not wholly justified. Can you name one? |
