Here's hoping for a 3 game orpik suspension. Being that Maata is already out for next game then orpiks suspension has to be longer than what we know Maata is missing in 2 games. Anythjng less and the league is sending the message that intent to injure will help your team.

Seven players participated in the optional skate today. Fleury, Zatkoff, Schultz, Pouliot, Bennett, Sundqvist, and Kris Letang.

Apparently 35 minutes last night was not enough. Dude's on a mission.

Wow what a bounce to Benn with 2 mins left to tie it. Poor Blues.

I cant really decide whether its a good thing or bad thing for the Pens if Orpik gets suspended. There's pros and cons to both.

I've gotten familiar with that Jaden Schwartz kid on the Blues since the playoffs started. He was really good in the Hawks series. He's really fast and hard working. He'd fit right in on the Pens...LW too...

I think its a good thing...both backups are eh...one got benched in game 1, the other is slower than Maatta. Though, I will miss the look to the heavens action every time he is on the ice and the Pens score.

Because some players get nominated based on their careers and not the specific year.

Would be a great fit, but the Blues have their talons in on him..no way he would be moved, considered part of their "new core"..

Obviously it's really cool that he's a bad ass and all but I'd like to see him take a maintenance day. If he wears down we are F'ed.

Can it even be called a maintenance day when every other player who played last night took the day off?

I don't want him to tire out, either. But a 7 person optional skate isn't going to do that. He's just working on his shot most likely.

But the cool thing is that all those young guys see what he does to be great.

if we had Martin, Dumoulin wouldn't have gotten the chance to establish himself in Martin's old role.

You'll be hard pressed to find a bigger Paul Martin fan than me, but he never really left. Dumo is well on his way to being better than Paul Martin ever was.

Yeah that's true. I think that we're finally growing the right culture in Pittsburgh. Out with the you play because you're a veteran attitude. In with the your hard work pays off attitude. I hope Sundqvist and Pouliot take note and work their asses off this offseason and put their best foot forward to force the coaching staff to give them spots. If Sundqvist can be a full timer next season, that's 800k+ that we don't have to spend in free agency. If DP finally starts realizing his potential, well I don't think I really need to finish that statement...
