The short shifting "defensive" strategy toward the end of the third was bogus. 100% removed any opportunity to have sustained pressure on offence. Getting the puck just to give it away, get a change, and go back to defense is going to wear your team down faster than the opponent.
- Blue Clam

it was the old Blues, dump and chase, play defense with a lead. You need to go for the throat at those times and force the Stars to play defense. Hopefully they will show up in game 3

You have to figure out typing and your keyboard before you can graduate to twitter.

Cardinals also have a home game so that place will probably be packed.

I am going to hate watching this game.

Stupid dinosaur coaches think you can play the old way and shut teams down but obviously it no longer works.

If you gomup by two, it is better to put pressure and risk giving up a goal to get a goal than standing on your heels in perfect position to take penalties, be caught flat footed and chasing the play. The dagger is four goal leads and even then you have to dictate the pace. Play the other team into frustration.

Didn't see any of Game 2 as I was traveling back from my grandmothers 90th birthday celebration

Got home just in time to get alerted to Backes scoring in OT

Not a bad way to end a nice weekend

Game 3 will be huge in this series

One Game One shift at a time

I'm confused.

To hear Captain Kangaroo talk after the game, it was the players that just naturally sat back and tried to hold on to the ole cursed two goal lead, but gosh, I'm pretty sure it's the coaches that shift the players on and off the ice, right?

So the game plan to mount no forecheck, make no attempts to gain offensive zone time, to get possession of the puck just long enough to skate it to the red line, dump it deep and get off on another line change after 25 seconds - well that would come from the suits standing up behind the players, right?

Well, thank goodness they learned their lesson. Thank goodness they're reminded not to take their foot off the gas. Thank goodness they'll never let that close call happen again.

Because it didn't happen in the first round and we certainly know they never gave away a two goal third period lead at any time during the regular season.

Thank goodness, this is the one and only time this has come up and they now know how to deal with it in the future.

Sheesh.

Thank goodness the knucklehead factor was big for Dallas yesterday in the person of Antoine Roussel. He was a big help.

Yeah his comments sounded like he was not sure what happened in the game

Pretty sure if you see your team playing not to lose you try and fix it

I disagree. He has been the catalyst in creating a number of very important goals.

His defensive play is improving, but still has holes, especially positionally.

He has been especially good on the pp. His unit might not always score but his unit gets lots of quality chances.

This was supposed to wuote Etech on Fabbri.

I read that as well and was thinking...really....really??? The coaches are essentially saying they have no control over their players and well you might as well hire anybody as coach then.
