We WILL NOT go silently into the night, AND we will have the brothers Nylander come puck drop next year. Book it.
You can have Stammer & his 10 milly contract, we won't need him.

- LakesideBlues

Really? I'll bite, so just how do plan on getting back into the top 8 to grab the other Nylander?

with what you outlined, you really need a speed player on each line to make the other teams d cringe whenever any of those 3 lines are out there

it really would be fun to watch

- homiedclown

Eichel, Ennis & Kane are all pretty darn speedy & Stamkos is no slouch
Bailey has some wheels, but who knows where he'd slot in eventually

Was just throwing that scenario out there though since I've been watching Pitt put Malkin on their "third" line

If Stamkos & Eichel didn't fit on a line together for whatever reason...

_____ -Eichel- Reinhart
_____ -STAMKOS- Ennis
Kane -O'Reilly- _____
Foligno-Larsson-Gionta

Hell yes I'm alright with that
Think of all the guys we have coming up that could potentially fill in those blanks

Fasching, Bailey, Baptiste, Rodrigues, Hurley, Cornel, Olofsson, Possler, Carrier, Catenacci, Karabacek, Malone, Estephan...

All those guys rated as "top9" or better talents
So we only need a couple of them to work out

And that's keeping Foligno & Larsson on the 4th line & not accounting for Girgensons anywhere

And what if we signed Vesey &/or Caggiula?

YEAH...
I'm REALLY liking what I see here quite a bit

- jdfitz77

Is rule #1 about Matt Moulson that nobody talks about Matt Moulson?
Pretty sure he's still on the team and isnt going anywhere for a while.
Where would Eichel live?

I was looking forward...
For now, slot in Moulson wherever.
I'd prob put him with Stamkos, bc that would give him a good opportunity to get back around 15-20goals & then MAYBE we can sucker someone into taking him
If not, I think he can be bought out next year for a reasonable amount

I believe it's already been said that Jack is moving out sometime this summer

I think Chychrun and Juolevi will be gone by #8. I'm putting our draft at 40% trade the pick for Risto's partner. 60% Nylander being there for us.

And, if we want to shut Toronto fans up, sign Stamkos. If we really want to be considered a legit contender with the big guys in this league, it's time for us to step up and take what we want.

Gotta be honest dude, this sounds a little bit rapey. Perhaps ask him out to dinner first, and see how things progress from there...?

I know I'm beating a dead horse, but doesn't anybody find it interesting that Toronto won the lottery. Buffalo didn't win the lottery for two straight years. They only won the lottery twice in 46 years. Toronto gets it on the first chance. Brendan Shanahan is the president of the leafs and he also worked under Bettman as NHL's Vice President of hockey and business development, then NHL's senior Vice President. Coincidence?

the 2nd cousin of bettmans wife once wore a leafs jersey at a Halloween party 37 years ago. Add to that fact bill dalys great great uncle Silas had a brawl in a saloon with a distant ancestor of the pegula family in 1894 over a stolen pig. Reparations for the lost pig were never made...

Coincidence ??! I think not.

Lol
If it was actually rigged, Arizona would've won it either this year or last
They're the team that needed it more than anyone else
Would've been nice to see them win this year & get their hometown boy, esp since they got screwed last year

I definitely think this is Moulsons last year if he doesnt produce more.
Though, he's a great guy to keep around for the expansion draft.

Seems like Stamkos, Vesey, and top 4 D are the pie in the sky Sabres wish list for this offseason.

Right now if you told me we could get Tkachuk, Caggiula and Fowler, I'd gladly take it. Granted this doesn't come free. So if Girgs/Ennis, Pysyk, picks and a prospect is the cost, I'm in. I'd even throw in Matt Ellis to sweeten the deal.

Should be an exciting rivalry in the next decade

Yeah, I doubt he'd get picked (u less he somehow scores 20goals this year)...
But since we have to expose a certain amount of Cap Salary, he's an obvious guy to hang onto & then possibly buyout after the draft

I agree

Matthews + Marner really could be as good as Eichel + Reinhart...
Or at least close enough to make it pretty interesting

We've got more quality around them right now,
But the Leafs are moving in the right direction...
Just a step or 2 behind

Yep. While our D needs upgrades it is still a few rungs higher in depth than Tor. The current situation in goal for Tor is awful too. I'd assume it will be addressed but as of now they are trending to finish around where buffalo was this year

I actually like Bernier
This past year was a mess for the whole team.
He was pretty good the previous year.
As with most goalies...
While the team in front gets better or worse,
So will he

There will also be a number of pretty good goalies available coming up bc of the expansion draft

I'm loving the Buffalo/Toronto renewed rivalry thought process. It's been a while since we could really say that with the passion it was supposed to carry. Real fans know that the development over the past two years for these two clubs is both good for the game, the cities and our respective clubs. Many of my fondest (and most heartbreaking) memories came out of crossing the border to see our clubs play. Whether it was the Old Aud (God I miss her) or HSBC. What a riot...... Literally!

There's a good pick at 8 for the Sabres. Kids picked late first round will be gems. Sabres have some holes so there's a lot of work to be done which is pretty exciting in itself. As over the moon nuts I'm feeling about having the first overall, some of the guesswork and anticipation is missing from other Drafts.

Good luck guys. Hate Ya later

No. He had a strong fist year with the team early on in a platoon role, and then started to struggle as his workload increased as the season went on. He got injured and was terrible at the end of the year. Last year was a struggle for him, was below average and struggled with focus, letting in soft first shot goals and long range softies. And that continued this year and why he was sent to the minors.

He's a small goalie, and with the decrease in equipment size it will probably hit him hard.

I think Bernier is a head case. Babcock doesn't trust him and that's a big issue for them.

This is true.

Lost all faith in him last year when he got shelled in a game and was brutal. Was asked if he was surprised he wasn't pulled, his response was "why would I get pulled"
