I am not sure where you are getting your facts from.

http://www.sbncollegehock...-15-rankings-and-reaction

McKenzie's scout-sourced top 15 looks like this:

1. Auston Matthews

2. Patrik Laine

3. Jesse Puljujarvi

4. Matthew Tkachuk

5. Pierre-Luc Dubois

6. Alex Nylander

7. Olli Juolevi

8. Mikhail Sergachev

9. Jakob Chychrun

10. Clayton Keller

11. Tyson Jost

12. Jake Bean

13. Logan Brown

14. Charlie McAvoy

15. Michael McLeod

Chychrun is 9th in Bob McKenzie's top 15.

Also was number #5 in Mckenzie's Mid Season rankings.

What part are you questioning? In the article Mackenzie says chychrun is not in the majorities top 10. He's listed 9, and you have him 4?

My facts are coming from Mackenzie himself. I do not understand what you're having issue with,

Agreed that Matthews is "certainly not Eichel". Eichel isn't a bad player, but we've already got a few of his caliber, and he's certainly not the kinda guy you're hoping for after finishing dead last.

Though, even if Matthews only tops out as an Eichel-like player, at least we didn't have to watch two historically bad rosters, built entirely for the purpose of getting someone else, to get him.

That would suck.

This is how one scout described Matthews

“People don’t know how good he is because he wasn’t around to scrutinize all year,” said a scout for a Canadian team. “I think that’s a huge advantage for him. The team that gets him is going to be incredibly surprised just how good he is. I hear things like he would have gone third in last year’s draft. Are you kidding?

“No disrespect to Eichel, but he couldn’t carry Matthews’ skates to the rink. His impact in the NHL is going to be special.”[b]

Garth, get off the Cam Fowler train. You are obsessed. I imagine you have his posters up all over your mancave. Yes he's good, but there are plenty of other players out there.

Yea, I guess the facts can sound an awful lot like trolling from where you're sitting.

You dont get that Edmonton is not taking a Forward because they need defense. This is why Edmonton has been failing for what 10 years now? They draft poorly.

Huh? How are you telling me something I don't get that I never said?

What you're not getting is that chychrun isn't that good. He isn't an elite franchise dman. Most scouts now don't even have him as 2nd best damn available, let alone the best.

Eichel is better than any forward in the Leafs system. Matthews mat change that. That being said, you're right, going through 2 historically disasters of a season just to get the second best guy will always hurt.

Are you kidding? This coming from the team that intentionally tanked only a year ago? Boo hoo you got Eichel, amazing player.

What Buffalo did the 2 seasons prior to this year was despicable, trading players with expiring contracts in a effort to improve the franchise. as opposed to TO who traded anybody and everybody, showing everybody how to maximize their assets.
The NHL changed the rules to insure that no team would have a advantage by tanking, which apparently will go to in effect next year.
It came as no shock to me that the former Discipline Czar of the NHL was awarded the first pick overall in this years draft, Daddy Bettman always makes sure his agenda's come to fruition.
The shock to me is that Montreal didn't move up as a reward for going along with the powers that be who orchestrated the John Scott trade in effort keep him out of the All Star game and run him out of the league.
The insulting of both Eichel and Matthews needs to stop, they are both ultra talented AMERICAN players who hopefully will be exciting the fans of the NHL for many years to come.

Eichel might be better than Nylander and Marner... But if he is its not by much.

Nylander's first 20 games compare pretty well to Eichel's, and he's always started slow when changing leagues... And he's done stuff in the Swedish elite league no other prospect has.

With Marner, we've got a guy who's only OHL comparables currently in the NHL go by the names McDavid, Kane, Stamkos, and Tavares.

Eichel's big advantage is his size, and in Marner's case, the fact that he's a natural center.

Always fun to see that Garth still believes that Anaheim will ship out its best players and take out Buffalo's trash in return. I have no doubt that Fowler is available and that Perry might be too, but the return for Perry will include someone like Reinhart and the return for Fowler will include a 20+ goal-scorer who fits Anaheim's style (i.e. not Tyler Ennis). The Ducks aren't holding a fire sale, but they may be looking to change the makeup of the team. They need scoring now, not picks in 2017 and 3rd/4th liners. Murray would lose season ticket holders like me and then his job if he made this deal.

Wow Garth you by far are the biggest whiner, homer, piece of **** ,

I'm sure had the Sabres won the lottery or top 3 pick you'd have no problem with this.

How you continue to have a spot on this website is beyond belief, but I guess it just goes to show the quality of Hockeybuzz in general.

First Edmonton will not take Matt Tkachuk. He will do nothing to help out their plague on defense. Edmonton WILL take Chychrun.

Next Vancouver will take Pierre-Luc Dubois because they need a center to replace Henrik Sedin.

That make Tkachuk drop to 6 who Calgary will take to add to their Offensive power.

Then Arizona will take Nylander who will be a top line forward which will help their rebuild.

That leaves Olli Juolevi who I think is the best Defensmen in the draft to Buffalo. Add him with Risto and you will have a pair that can start playing together next year for a long time. Olli Juolevi is just a younger version of Risto, a good skater who can play hard. Also who is going moving the puck.

1. Toronto Maple Leafs: Auston Matthews

2. Winnipeg Jets: Patrik Laine

3. Columbus Blue Jackets: Jesse Puljujarvi

4. Edmonton Oilers: Jakob Chychrun

5. Vancouver Canucks: Pierre-Luc Dubois

6. Calgary Flames: Matt Tkachuk

7. Arizona Coyotes: Alex Nylander

8. Buffalo Sabres: Olli Juolevi

- danwest58

Juolevi looks great - Personally, I take Sergachev over Juolevi - Sergachev is more of the full package on the back end...gives you everything Juolevi does offensively and more gritty and physical on the backend. Can't really go wrong with either though. Will be a great pick no matter who.

Wow your funny . You think the #1 overall can get all those players and picks from Arizona ? The leafs wold have made that deal last night if offered.

Please tell me why Arizona would gut their team for Matthews?
