Dallas's goaltending truly is a 2b and 2b situation. And they only have to pay $10.4 million for it! They would love to have either one of our goalies. |

Actually, I'm sitting nude and cross legged on S2TP's metal folding chair in front of his 12 TVs. They are not turned on right now, but I am staring at them drinking 7 day expired milk I found in his fridge. I am so comfortable. |

Bill-
Just a question off the last thread. You shot down the long held belief that the Flyers fell back on the Giroux pick because the Rangers took Sanguinetti in front of them. You said they were picking Patrick Berglund. Berglund went several picks after Giroux so why not just take him then? Maybe I am misunderstanding from you brief post. Could you expound on that statement a bit and clear it up for us (me)? Thanks. - mayorofangrytown
It will be explained in more detail in the 50th Anniversary book. The Rangers offered Flyers a chance to trade up one pick, believing the Flyers coveted Sanguinetti (whom they actually had internally ranked in 2nd Rd range). If Rangers had taken Giroux rather than.Sanguinetti, the Flyers would have picked Berglund.

How about the next Coburn? If I recall he put up some good offensive numbers for Portland his last two years. |

I saw him 3 games this year and I hope he makes the Memorial Cup (heavy favorite) so I can watch him more. I think he has the potential to play a defensive game as good or thereabouts as Coby...but with plus offensive instincts. That's a ceiling of course. He put up slightly better numbers than Coby did in his D+2 year...and this was Myers's first year as a top guy for his team.
His development will be intriguing. Can't put him over Morin bc that's not fair due to age and Morin improving every year...BUT it wouldn't shock me if he keeps growing his game for him to surpass him. More natural offense, more fluid skater, not as nasty but I didn't see any drop off defensively. |

I saw him 3 games. I'm not going overboard making declarations, others than I see a greater 2-way ceiling. Morin has 3 years of constant improvement. Myers has come out of nowhere and has 1 year of success. I was incredibly impressed with every facet of his game. I'll say that. Everything came naturally in 3 zones.
But 3 games. |
