Nick Richie.... - landros 2
I would be all about this acquisition but he's not going to come cheap.
It would likely have to involve Schenn, Konecny or one of the big D prospects. |

I wouldnt be willing to move any of them for him, so pass.
There are many other players out there though.

I know it sucks for Anaheim and I believe they are one of the internal budget teams, but man, sometimes you just have to suck it up and not overreact
You lost. Sometimes, it happens and it sucks
But you've already given the coach the shiv. You have won the division the past four seasons. You'd better be really careful about throwing out the baby with the bathwater, because you just lost a Game 7 in the conference final last year and while you can certainly tinker around the margins, other really good teams lost in the first round too |

Good advice, but you gotta admit there's some serious entertainment value in the 'fly off the handle' approach when it's another team. |

Based on this, San Jose need to beat Nashville for the Flyers to pick 17th.

Other way around. I fixed the blog. I had thought Preds getting to round 2 superceded the regular season standing tiebreaker. It doesn't. |

Haha, yes, I got it backwards. Nashville would have to win and make the conference finals for the Flyers to pick 17th.
It's all rather confusing... |

These rules are so fracking backwards. I don't know how this benefits anyone fairly. |

Really Hope we can snag Max Jones at #17. Strong power forward who has hands and can score and fills the void of Having no LW prospects - Bigjohnston
Another guy to watch is Kieffer Bellows, Brian's son. Good size, great shot. Knack for scoring goals. And Plays LW. Perfect fit. |

If we get caggiulla I'd like to see a move up in either the 1st or 2nd round |

I'm ok with this in both counts. Been Max Jonesing for Caggiulla for a while now. Can really bring skill to the 2nd or 3rd line. |

I'm sure their internal list is biased slightly toward forwards this year, but they'll stick to their version of BAP, even if it calls for taking another dman at #17.
(hopefully that dman is Mikhail Sergachev) - Tomahawk
Keep dreaming. He ain't slipping, and could very well be the first d selected. You know who his game reminds me of? Medvedev. I mean that in complimentary fashion. Imagine selecting an 18 yo, CHL playing, higher end Medvedev. That's an intriguing player to mold. |

They will take BAP or, alternatively, trade down if they like someone they feel they can get a few spots later.
It is said to be an average depth draft, but there will still be some good players to emerge beyond round one. It can help to have those extra picks to work with. - bmeltzer
A lot scout-wannabes including myself believe the list of "solid" prospects drops off in the middle of the 2nd round, similar to 2011. This is one of those drafts I'd move up to try and get as many top 45 prospects I can get without concern for losing later picks. |
