Pouliot has little trade value. So, you are saying a third round pick for Fleury? - Oneonta Penguin
But didn't Talbot get a 2nd and Lehner a 3rd? |

Dumb question for yinz: was the 1st rd pick we gave Tor the one that ended up being the No. 1 overall pick?? |

I probably overvalue fleury more then others because I like him. I'm having a difficult time with him possibly being done here lol - dbell646
I agree. I like Fleury too and believe he is a better goalie than most give him credit for. Unfortunately the expansion draft in addition to the protection clauses he received in his latest contract, he needs to be moved to the first decent bid not on his "no trade" list... |

no. our place in the draft has not been decided yet. since we are still in playoffs |

Of all the goalies sort of on the market Fleury is probably the best. He's also a good guy in the locker room. If someone wants Fleury this offseason it would take something equivalent to the Kessel trade of somthing like a top 15 pick.
Off the top of my head Toronto, Buffalo, Calgary, and Edmonton all need a goalie badly. I think there are three teams with excess goalies that are fairly proven.
Also if the expansion draft was held this offseason we would likely lose Pouliot if we didn't have fleury/murray. Any return we get for fleury will have to be worth more than Pouliot whose got a decent shot at not being protected. If we hang on to Fleury and Murray then we can lose fleury in the expansion draft. Once a guy is claimed you can protect more players. - sditulli
Fleury has a NO MOVEMENT CLAUSE. Players who have NO MOVEMENT CLAUSES MUST be protected in an expansion draft. Teams can only protect ONE goalie. If both Fleury and Murray are on the roster at the time of an expansion draft, Fleury MUST be protected and Murray WILL be exposed. The only way to protect Murray from an expansion draft is to trade MAF, who also has a no trade clause in which he can block 12 teams. If an offer comes across GMJR's desk from a team not on Fleurys no trade list- he should take it. Otherwise he risks losing MURRAY for nothing. Was it clear that time? |

Define right deal. At this point, if you don't deal him, you lose Murray in the expansion draft for nothing. Is a high second round pick the "right deal" knowing what you could do with the 5.75 million of cap space? - Oneonta Penguin
Have they finalized how all of the expansion draft is working? |

kinda ye. you can protect 1 goalie and NMC's auto takes 1 spot of the people you can protect so since fleury has one he is auto protected and we can't protect murray even if we want too. |

All I know is that the PA approved expansion and they figured out how NTC were going to be dealt with. I don't know what the actual decision was though |

Its possible to offer a future entry draft pick to the expansion team to say don't pick this player right?

NTC guys are exposed to expansion. NMC guys are exempt. |

I thought you needed a NMC to have a NTC. |

I'm no expert, but General Fanager has them listed as two separate things. The tweet I read earlier this week said basically the same thing as I posted a few min ago.

Gotcha. And you're right. Now I'm remembering the Scuderi debates when we all wanted him sent to WBS because he didn't have a NMC. You're right. |

Fairly certain fleury does not have a nmc. He has a NTC where he can list 12 teams. We can therefore expose fleury to the expansion draft.
Pouliot would return at a minimum a low 1st round pick. Defenseman take a while to develop and his analytics say he's a good player. |

Fwiw if you have No idea what yor talking about its a good idea not to put things in bold.
I'm seeing one site list it as a limited no movement clause. I believe it needs to be a full NMC to force us to protect him. |

Just because its not what you want to hear, doesn't mean it is not correct. But carry on believing whatever you'd like. The fact is if Fleury and Murray are both on the roster, Murray will be exposed. |

What Wilson did to Sheary was far worse than what Letang did. It could have ended Sheary's career. Fine of a couple of grand, big fing deal. The slash at the end of the game by Williams on Letang was not pretty either but nobody said anything about that either Letang has bullseye on his back since this series started |
