I got so jittery when neither Crosby, Cullen nor Bonino could win a faceoff to save their life at the end...
- DeflatedPucks

Apparently Backstorm won nearly every Washington faceoff this game

Ovechkin seems to spend a lot of time just standing there and watching what happens after he passes the puck off to someone, instead of finishing the play.
- rjp4120

And if you think back to game 1, other than his two early breakaways, he never really had any clean looks to shoot. More often than not, especially on the powerplay, he would pass

Are we pro-Orpik suspension or do we want him playing? I think it will be a help to us with him out of the game.
- sditulli

Given that these next 2 are home, I think I'm going for a 2 game suspension..... super late... no body contact. ... elbow to the head.

But if Orpik is out that means Weber draws back in.... he cannot handle our speed so with last change, that's a bug time matchup advantage for the pens IMO

We really don't have anyone to take a seat for Kunitz. If Wilson was healthy it would be a conversation. Next 2 guys are sundqvist and maybe Sprong.
- sditulli

He should strongly consider retirement after this season. He shouldn't have a roster spot with a healthy Wilson and Sprong coming into the fold.

Did Crosby have a single shot this game? I swear every single @%&@! time he got the puck I was shouting for him to shoot rather than pass or cycle.

Letang is the best player on the roster.

Orpik is/was always a dbag laying dirty hits. So glad he's not a Pen anymore.

Murray is solid.

OV is not the threat he use to be.

Backstrom is very underrated.

The Penalty on Letang was a joke and a reason why this league will always be garbage.

Letang was absolutely robbed of being a Norris Trophy finalist. If we end up winning the cup I'd vote for Letang as MVP.
- sditulli

I'd say Murray

Yeah OV will always be a threat, but I dont see too many games anymore. He doesn't come across as the game changer he use to be.

Backstrom....Id take him over Toews any day of the week. Especially if you factor the cap hit.

Letang is the sh!t!

If he retires he sacrifices his pay correct? I have a feeling we can trade him in the offseason if we want to for a pick. Kunitz may have lost a step, but he's still good enough to be a 3rd/4th liner on most teams. Not many players retire while they can still find work.

Though I agree next year I have trouble seeing how we have a roster spot for him.

Yeah he's not retiring while still under contract....find a player thats done that?

He will be a Pen or bought out. I dont think anyone is trading for a 37 yr old with a hit of $3.7

Was it just me, but I saw Wilson taking liberties after the whistle a couple of times this guy. Once a crosscheck to Sid...

Yep ... amazing what two years does. We were celebrating the Orp d!ck. Not a fan ... anymore.

Anyone else feel that penalty on Letang, the trip was a bit ridiculous that led to the Washington goal??

Opik was a decent Dman like 5 yrs ago. Since he's been terrible with dirty hits.

Yes the penalty was a complete joke. Thats a good hockey play. Watch the game with someone who doesn't know the sport at all and try to explain that call to them.
