Yep ... amazing what two years does. We were celebrating the Orp d!ck. Not a fan ... anymore.

Anyone else feel that penalty on Letang, the trip was a bit ridiculous that led to the Washington goal??

Very much so. The sad thing everyone knew the refs were going to call something against the Penguins even if it was legal.

There's a huge issue with the league when the commentators are calling it during the intermission and anyone who has ever watched a game knew it was coming. Between no penalty and just a fine for Wilson, and 2 minutes for Orpik, the league just continues to be ruined by horrendous officiating and joke for a player safety department.

The 5 D really started catching up with them in the third. On top of that, Washington adjusted and started just dumping into corners and attacking our D.

Letang with 35 mins. Damn.

Just got home from watching at a buddies house gents:
-Fantastic effort by the Pens, especially playing the whole game with 5 D.
-Orpik should be suspended, but I'm sure the NHL with give him another slap on the wrist fine.
-Pens were the better team for most of the game and deserved the outcome they got. It looked like the Pens tired a bit in the 3rd, but that happens when you have guys like Tanger playing 35 minutes. Huge goal by Fehr to make sure it didn't go to OT.
-Murray was great in the 3rd when they needed him to be.

I just hated how he was targeted by the Caps for a hit every single time he took the ice for a shift

Those last 15/20 seconds were all him. He kept making plays to keep the caps from controlling the puck. Just an incredible night for him.

i mean as long as they arent going high or knee to knee on him, thats just hockey. makes sense. grind him down on the body if they can at every chance they get.

like the stuff carlson did. lighting up both crosby and malkin in open ice. those were good, clean, hard hits.

was just glad to see 87 and 71 not respond by taking a retaliation penalty

Mataa has been bad , been waiting to see schultz or dp. Maybe one or the other can spark that gross pp ive been watching this series.
Kessel needs to put his name on this series or just hit the damn net.
I loved how tanger looked to shoot tonight on the pp after missing the net at least 3 times gm 1

I have no idea what the were trying to do with the first unit. It seemed like they were using the left side of the ice and letting Phil QB it. They must have seen something on tape with Holtby.

I think they need to simplify. Geno on the half wall. Sid down low and Hornie creating havoc in front.

yeah i noticed that too. i like having phil on that side as an option. but like you said, they were straight letting him qb it from there. i think thats not using the full sheet of ice. and when you have the man advantage, space is your friend.

exactly like you said. sid down low. hornie in front. funnel it through letang and malkin up top with kessel as an option on the left to keep the lanes honest.

he really does. i dont think youll ever get 4 million worth of goals out of him, but if he keeps playing like this, he adds SO much to the team. his acquisition was key in establishing this new identity.

and boy it sure does seem that the goals he does get are timely as (frank).

blame it on injuries, linemates, the coach, whatever have you. he had a hell of a ghostly start, but bonino really deserves a lot of credit too.

Great win. Absolutely stoked!

How (frank)ing grubby are these Washington arseholes going to get? Great sportsmanship Bettman must be loving the Caps at the moment, all the things he loves!

Getting to the point where there better be an ambulance parked in the tunnel if the Pens win any more games!!!

Well we can now establish its just not Wilson on his own, got to ask the question about on ice tactics????

I can't see Maatta coming back this series at all. That was brutal.

I also agree with the PP assessment, it needs to get better or the Caps will not be afraid to take liberties. I think that is the big reason we took out the Rangers in five.

The Caps look to be an overconfident group right now, that could be a mistake on their part. They think they can just turn it on and off when they want and are going to win every game even if they only play twenty minutes. Pens split on the road is a good thing.

Solid win.

Orpik is a douchebag. Hope he cuts himself shaving this morning. Flaming A-hole.

Murray is so composed. What the hell. Without him this isn't close and we would all be crying in our beverage.

Dumo has it going.

Cole made some big plays.

Offense has figured out possession. Now, look for a way to generate rebounds or deflections.

That is all.

These boys are on fire. Love these guys!

I absolutely loved orpik when he played for us. It's a shame he stooped to that level last night.

We pretty well dominated the caps last night. If it weren't for Holtby this one isnt close.

I hope oli is alright but it might be a blessing in disguise. He wasn't a playing very well. I'm stoked to see what shultz can do.

LET'S GO PENS!!!!!!!

I can't believe how late the hit was. It's as if Trotz said to him, "Brooks, I'm sitting you for a few, just take a dman out if you can - not fussed how or when just do it!"!

Guys lost his marbles if he thinks they believe that he 'thought the puck was coming back'. What is it, a (frank)ing boomerang puck??
