Would be better for the Isles this year. I think u have to leave a certain % of your Sallaried players exposed too... 20%... off the top of my head Bailey, Grabovski, kulemin, Zid, Strait, Mayfield and Berube would be about 17 mill .. which would cover 20% of 70 cap. ...unless u can't include UFA.

Next year if we sign some guys Martin, Greiss, Ok/Nielsen, Strome, Casey, Prince, Quine, Mayfield.. it will get very dicey.

After this season, Tavares and Boychuk will have NMC clauses. So, even though we'd protect them anyway, we'd have to burn two spots on them.

So you figure (assuming Okposo walks & Hamonic is traded) if we went 7F, 3D, 1G:

Forwards: Tavares, Lee, Nelson, Strome, Nielsen, Cizikas, Clutterbuck (I had trouble the forwards, honestly)

Defensemen: Leddy, Boychuk, Pulock

Goalie: Greiss

Notable players this would leave exposed: de Haan, Hickey, Pelech, Prince, Martin, Berube

Making the same assumptions, if we went 8 skaters, 1 goalie:

Goalie: Greiss

Skaters: Leddy, Boychuk, Pulock, de Haan/Pelech, Tavares, Lee, Nelson, Nielsen(?)/Clutterbuck(?)/Cizikas(?) -- I can't pick the last one.

It's a real tough call.

Isles will lose someone good. I might protect Price over Frans at this point though.

I hope the Pens get swept and the Caps ruin a couple of their players careers while simultaneously somehow killing their entire fanbase. I'd also like Wilson to die somehow while this is happening.

If Wilson and Letang simultaneously ended each others careers I would throw a party!

I still hope it's a nasty 7 game series. Then the winner gets swept in 4 by the Isles or the Bolts. Every time I watch the Pens or interact with their fans I remember why I always want them to lose.

the only good news is that we can only lose one player. The bad news is that it's likely to be whichever top 4 defenseman we don't protect.

Let's worry about that next year...I'm sure they'll be loopholes and only the players that have big salaries for example like Bailey, Halak and maybe Kuleman will be exposed...

I can't root for injuries. Just hate seeing it happen, even to complete sh!tbag players.

I'd love to watch Letang get slammed head first into the boards and die slowly after on the ice. I really don't care (frank) him and the rest of that team and their fans for that matter.

Nope. My wife and I were watching the Sabres/Panthers game years ago where one of the Sabres got flipped over and his skate sliced Richard Zednik's neck. Blood spraying; whole place was silent as church. I thought we had just watched the guy's death. The trainers did some lightning quick work and he turned out OK. Wouldn't wish anything worse than that even on Letang!

OK. How about a career ending injury? I'm not big on doing it normally but even I can compromise sometimes.

If Garth Snow trades for Jimmy Howard, because he's another U of Maine Black Bear, he should be summarily executed.

I watched a little. The Blues have Kirk Muller as assistant coach, so I hope they lose 4 straight.

If it happened during 2017 wouldn't Pulock and Pelech be 2nd year players?
