Sabres and Yandle
- SABRES 89

Meh, I could take it or leave it. We need help on the back end. He would do that. The price will be high.

I wouldn't mind Loui Eriksson. He's a UFA.
- Khmylev

Eriksson is one hit to the head away from eating his dinner through a straw. Guys with major head injuries scare me. It's one of the main reasons why I didn't want to trade for Lehner. Ironically, it turns out that Lehner's head was OK but it turns out that he has the ankles of a 90 year old grandma.

Lehner's head is OK concussion-wise....now as far as mental stability...lol

I thought I read somewhere he wants north of 6 mill a year, not a good investment IMO.

So around as good of a chance we had at the lottery the last 2 years. That being said, other than a defenseman I'm not expecting much in the way of a different team next year. I assume we bank on the growth of our current players instead.
- Zschalberg

I guess we'll see

Right now, with no major moves I think we can compete for a wild card spot next year

If the right move isn't there to be made,
I'd prefer to just wait till next offseason when some teams will be desperate bc of the expansion draft
Save our $$$ for then & take advantage of a team or 2

Yandle talk starting up again.
- SABRES 89

I hope we don't get him
He's ok, but not a "top pair" guy
I'm ok with McCabe on the 2nd pair

I'm OK with that. Call it the old guy's bridge contract. Some day the GMs will figure it out but until then, 30 year old guys will still get paid way too much for past, and not future, performance.
- Khmylev

Not me. If it's some guy that has won cups and has the experience and we need that veteran leadership then sure. But we don't. By the time he's halfway through his contract he'll be on the 3rd line. No thanks. I'd rather do nothing.

How would he help on the back end? By being a pylon? I can find one of those. Hell we traded one of those for a 3rd and that was considered an overpayment. He can get power play points but that is it. Keep Franson rather than him. Franson is slow as balls but at least he won't cost another 5+ million for garbage.

He's better than Mike Green...
But I'd def pass

He'll cost at least 6mil & 5 years
(I think that's what Green got)

That's too much for a 2nd pair defenseman when we've got McCabe looking good

We need a partner for Risto!

Let Jack QB the power play

And from what I heard doesn't he want like 6 million for 6 years? No thanks. I'd take Nash over him just because the contract ends a lot sooner. I don't want to deal with Free Agents that are over 30 unless it's for a deal that's 3 years or less. New rule.
- Zschalberg

I'm generally against forwards on the blue line for the Power Play. That's just me.

I doubt he'd sign for that
Plus...
Makes more sense to me to keep McCabe on the 2nd pair for those 3 years & let him grow

We need a partner for Risto... Not Bogo

the possibility of getting Stamkos and Matthews or Stamkos and one of the Finns just seems too good to be true...

Talk hockey! unless it's star wars, then talk star wars! unless it's boobs and booze, then talk about that. Just don't talk about what I don't want you to talk about.
Stamkos for mayor.

- Khmylev

Star wars usually doesn't bring out bigoted, ill informed, uneducated, nonsensical, and bloated opinions.

If you have a problem with people telling you not to talk politics in a hockey forum, all I can say is too f$€£(+× bad.

We'll all agree with your opinions then since you're clearly the most enlightened, intelligent, benevolent individual on this sight. Thanks for setting me straight. By the way, I didn't see any bigoted, ill informed, uneducated, nonsensical, or bloated opinions, merely a respectful, intelligent discussion. But, hey, I'm not you, so what do I know?
