But when it's music or movies or some other BS that you like, besides hockey, it's ok right?
- Khmylev

Politics is not place for a sports message board. It is a highly toxic topic that only gets people in trouble, and annoys others. It should never be on this board, IMO.

Also if you cant see the difference between talking about movies and "Other BS" and politics, well i cant help you.

Fair enough

Anyone hear anything lately on Caggiula?
I know we're one of the finalists...
But the only team I heard about him visiting so far was Philly
Thankfully, the got crushed by the Caps in that game!

It's everybody's fault. Career politicians are a huge problem. That's why Trump is doing so well. You're right in saying everything big that has been enacted benefits the rich on both sides. Used to be one didn't BECOME rich once they became a politician. The fix has been in for decades.
- Khmylev

We agree on the above (except for why Trump is doing well, but I'm not gonna get into that)
It's just ridiculous to me when ppl just pick a side...
Bc really...
Whatever side u pick right now sucks

I'm gonna try n just talk hockey now though

I wonder how many would be politicians if there were no ancillary benefits and either no pay or very low pay?

We'd really find out who wants to try and make things better by being an elected official if there were virtually no money in it.

No thanks

#1) I don't want anything to do with Kessel
And why would Pitt trade him anyways?

2) I'll give the 3rd for Nash, but not Ennis
I think Ennis will bounce back & be a 20+ scorer again next year.
And the reason NYR will have to move Nash is for Cap reasons, so it seems unlikely they'd want to take back a Cap hit like Ennis has in the deal.
with them holding 1 mil of Nash's deal, they only save very minimally. That deal wouldn't really make sense for them.

- jdfitz77

WGR seems to think Nash to Buffalo is a lock. I wouldn't give up anything more than a 3rd for him. I'm not giving them a haul and I'd rather not help them with the hell that they're about to be in. Only reason I'm okay with taking him at all is his salary at least ends in 2018.

I never got in trouble on a message board

banned, but never in trouble

some like it, some don't

all message boards will talk about current events from time to time, this is one of those times

I actually thought this was pretty civil compared to most political debates.

Idk why they'd act like its a lock
Stamkos is our clear target
Gonna be tough to fit both...
And a Nash trade prob happens at the draft
Will GMTM know by then if Stamkos is coming here or not?
Maybe...

Yeah I gotcha. I know of him. I was just trying to throw in some levity to ease our exodus from the previous topic of discussion. For real though, Caligula was not a good dude.

This is true, however I have one comparison for a situation like this.

Most on here, I like to hear their opinions on hockey, and what they bring to the board, but then you hear their views on politics, and you're like damn. It's like a really attractive girl you're into, and then all of all sudden she sticks her finger in her nose, rips out a huge booger, and just sticks it right in her mouth.

Probably because, realistically, we have just as good of a chance to get Stamkos as we do the lottery this year. It was the article someone there wrote the day after the rangers were eliminated that definitely made it sound like they expected us to get him. Like I said, I'd take him for a 3rd. No more. If I only had the one 3rd I wouldn't do it either.

Nobody got called a doodie head or anything so that's good. If anybody needs a safe space, head over to Garth's blog. It's usually sparsely visited and quiet there.

I agree on what you'd give up for him

I think we have a better shot at Stamkos though
He'll prob narrow it down to 3 or 4 teams, and I believe we'll be one of them
So I'd say we roughly have a 25-33% chance to get him
