I would take the Preds top 2 D over the Ducks top 2 D. But as a 6 man unit, I would take the Ducks as a whole over the Preds. - DiggerCal
Ehhh I think I still take the preds top 4. Weber, josi are two of the top 10 dmen in the league. On top of that Id take ellis who is extremely underrated as a two way dman, and ekholm who is criminally underrated in all facets of the game, but anyways I'd happily take those 4 over vantenen, lindholm, fowler, and bieksa. Watching both teams quite a bit this year, I go with the preds. |

Good game. Good series Preds. I was there last night and knew once that first goal went in that I was going to go home unhappy. On paper, there is no reason the Ducks should have lost this series. Ducks are deeper at every position. But that's why the game is played on ice. Preds showed more heart. Not sure if the Ducks are lacking in player leadership or coaching. Probably both. But it doesn't take away from what the Preds accomplished. The better team in this series won. - DiggerCal
On paper we have a better goalie and better defencemen. You might have a deeper forward core, might, but ours are underrated. You think you might learn something after we have beaten you twice in the past 5 years. Sheesh. |

The Preds are a really good team. Congrats to Nashville. And what a set of fans in that arena. I dream of that in Anaheim.
That said, Go Sharks! (Ouch! That hurt.) |

Honestly i think Perry had an injury that hampered him. He wasnt his old self like the 2nd half of the year. - slash&smash
Probably. He seemed off. Same with giroux. Totally didn't look himself, was taking a lot of maintenance days, etc |

It sure is nice to be looking towards a series that doesn't involve the same dang teams we've been playing the last few years.. I feel like we've played the Kings, the Canucks and the Red Wings for like a DECADE (Not true, but it feels like it!) A matchup with the Preds is refreshing and new!
Goodluck tomorrow Preds! Unlike the Ducks, Sharks have teeth! FEAR THE FIN! |

I disagree. I remember years ago when it seemed like the Sharks put us out every year. We need some revenge! |

I remember going to game 5 in 2007 vs the Sharks, my first experience in Nashville at the time, what a fun game it was! Outcome sucked though.
Good series win vs the Ducks!
Don't be content with just making it to round 2 as in previous years, go for it all! |

Then explain why Anderson/Gibson won the Jennings Trophy this year. Sheesh. Preds are underrated. Never said they weren't. I just happen to disagree with you. Get the hell over it., |

I agree that the Ducks goalie tandem is much better than the Preds, but one thing we've seen over and over again is that when Rinne is on his game (always a question mark in the playoffs) then he's THE difference maker.
I will say that the Preds have the best top 4 in the league. Ekholm and Ellis would be a first line pairing on a lot of other teams. Our bottom 2, Jackman and Bitetto, are just quietly doing their jobs well. What I like about our team this year is that we finally have some pieces on offense that can score. I really like our top 6, and with Wilson finally awakening from his season-long slumber, this team was finally able to put together some good games.
I thought it was a really tight series. The games the Ducks won, they REALLY won. The games the Preds won were hard, fought and methodical. The Ducks are going to retool a bit and be back with a vengeance next season. They're still a powerhouse, as they showed by coming back and winning the division after that horrendous start. As for the Preds, we've been playing with house money since February. I hope this ride lasts quite a while longer. It's been a fun season so far. |

Central Division has 3 teams still in the playoffs. The Pacific division was weaker this year so it made it easier to win the Jennings. |

Explain to me why Weber never won Norris...oh wait b/c he plays in Smashville. Rinne was average (at best) during the regular season. Only trophy that matters is Lord Stanley. . .
The series went 7 games...game 7s are a toss-up...and the momentum swings were WILD in our series. Hats off to the Ducks...Kesler almost single-handedly took out the Preds again. |
