Anyone notice the difference in Brett Cyrgalis' tone between his Ranger write-ups and Isles write-ups?

Man seemed downright blissful recapping the Islanders victory last night; praising every player he mentioned.

He was soley doing the Isles recaps for a while. Than shifted to all 3 metro teams. Loved when he called out Dan Boyle though.

What a way to bow out of what was a good NHL career on the whole. Pretty embarrassing run here in NY for him and it really highlights the brutal miscalculation by Sather in the summer of 2014.

I am. But don't tell me trading Mcdonagh for Draisaitl and Kid that is 2 years away isn't blowing it up. Blow the whole thing up than.
- tomburton99

One player is not blowing it up. It would boil down to McD and Brassard for Shattenkirk Draisitl and a top 5 pick. That's no where near blowing it up and if you think one player is the whole team and without him were garbage there's a problem with our team. Those are 2 very feasible trade scenarios that aren't blowing it up but shaking it up.

That's funny most islander fans will tell you the guy has done nothing but take shots at the isles up until now. I will give him kudos for being basically the only member of the MSM who picked the isles in round 1

He trashed the Islanders plenty of times this season. He just rides the tidal wave of sentiment, good or bad, surrounding the team at the current moment.

I have no issue with Brett. I want guys calling out the team when needed.

He's always like that, I completely understand Boyle's hatred of that clown

Shaking things up by moving the guys who play hard every night is probably the wrong message to send.

Not sure who it was from, but there was a fantastic tweet after that episode: "You can’t get more ironic than Dan Boyle being extremely defensive on his last day with the Rangers."
I don't blame Boyle one bit for his perspective, but that is a funny comment.

If Klein gets dealt ( ) then my feelings is with Nash to sweeten the deal in order to not have to pay any of Nashers salary.

Say NO to Yandle...I just cannot stomach his defensive play any further. I am not paying another D-man $5M+ for any amount of time; look at the situation Rangers are in now. Guy may be good at something now, but what happens if he doesn't have the passing goods as he did this season? He's then untradable.

Deal Staal or buy him out. I'd keep Girardi for another season and hope expansion draft rules allow NMC players to be left unprotected.

If Nash can be moved with Staal joining him, then I would see if Lucic would be interested in wearing blue next season.

I'd rather just deal away Nash for nothing then give up a dman like Klein. We have very few capable dmen as it is, with that kind of contract. Klein and Staal are a decent second pair. I think our best defensively is Mac and Skjei, Staal and Klein and figure out the last two. Wether it's Mcilrath, Girardi, UFA, etc. Those two together would be scary slow tho I agree on Yandle, I don't think he's worth the money

Keep McD and Girardi together. Skjei and McI would be a good, young pairing...hope for the next Leetch and Beukeboom I know...wishful thinking.

I don't think under any circumstances Girardi can be the top pair guy anymore, and I'm arguably his biggest fan haha. Do like Chicago did, you play mcd and Skjei (Keith and seabrook) 30 minutes a night, the second pair 20 or so and the bottom pair 10. In order for Girardi to be effective I think your looking solely as a 3rd pair and PK guy, which isn't the worst thing for a year. Limit his ice time, saving energy. I'd rather do that and wait a year to buy him out

How about dangling our captain in front of Edmonton for McDavid? They need D and we need Offense, Looks like a win win scenario
