The big rub for him is that he actually scored 4 goals in thes series. Can't ask much more from him, but he came up short again.
Honestly, between his trade demands and the Schneider/Lu fiasco, that's the reason we are a rebuilding team. If he had stayed (healthy) and we kept one of those goalies, we might have had another shot at the Cup. - micah555

Just finished watching the games, and I'm now a believer that there is a hockey god...no LA, no Anaheim, no Chicago, no New York Rangers, and the ultimate, Boston didn't qualify... |

Hamhuis was a FA when we signed him and stuck with the team for years. Same as Hossa with the Hawks . Yandle is young enough to come on board for 4 years . We could also take a contract like Okposo. If we sign both between 12-13 mil that's adding two key pieces and still after Etem Sven Pedan are signed leaves us about 10 mil in space.
As Don has been saying for a while stop trying to save the cap space we have plenty. - VANTEL

Meh, the NHL would love to see Pittsburgh win the Cup. If Bettman is the hockey god, he's still in effect. |

Well 6/8 in the first Rd was not bad I did not have the Isles or Preds advancing but good on them. Great to see the crybaby Kesler out...Lou as well but too bad for Bieksa. Still alive in my bracket challenge with a SJ vs WAS final...got WAS in 7. STL SJ WAS and TBay all advance to conference finals. SJ looks big fast and confident...will dispose of NSH no problem. STL will handle Dallas but lose in wCF to SJ. Pit will compete but fall to WAS big and heavy game. TBAY will rebound with PO experience over the Isles. There it is Carol. |

I feel bad for Lu. The guy makes Florida a playoff team and they can't get him an empty netter or guard the most dangerous guy on the ice to clear a rebound or help him make a save in the last minute.
3 years ago, I was once at the kids market in Granville Island and my daughter was playing on the dollar ride carousel with another little girl (they were both around 2). The other girl wanted the ride to go and was asking her dad to put money in it. Her dad was Kevin Bieksa and he said no. I put the money in and they had an exciting time. So basically, Bieksa owes me 50 cents and I'm pretty indifferent to his feelings. |

They certainly have the team with the skills to do so, but I think Washington is the team to come out of the east, it should be a fun series to watch. |

Cheap bastard.
I also feel bad for Luo, he always wears the blame, stops 48 shots, looses in OT and people pile on the Luongo couldn't stop a beach ball |

No one is teaching them how to score at this level (sorry dragon).
i think mentor ship on D is about positioning, prep, and being a pro.
Hamhuis could do these fine. - dbot
nah...D systems dont address scoring .....that Im aware of anyways. I believe thats more of a personal thing and an issue for PP coach. Newel brown was great at that. |

Thats right. Why? People love to bash him....same with cloutier. Great goalie, 1 brutal goal against and was never allowed to have peace. People forget his 5 Shutouts in a row |

There is that , and I also think Yandle can ease some of the pressure off Edler too. Edler can play second unit guy and not have to be The Guy.
I think Edler would be good with Tryamkin. - VANTEL
Bring in Dan Boyle as a 6-7 dman at about a 1mill/ contract for mentoring and teaching these guys how to channel the offense... with Hamhuis gone they'll need someone. Unless Hamhuis is willing to sign a deal at 1.5-2mill/ |

Very true. I would prefer a puck moving or shut down Dman, or a big scoring forward with the 2nd but if he is there you for sure have to consider it. - mauryballstein
we need puck movers... watching the Blues-Hawks series the most trouble the Hawks gave the Blues was when they made the stretch pass from their own zone... need guys who can make that first pass up onto the forwards stick by the other teams blue line.. |

Kesler did everything he could for them and has been worth the money. The other big names didn't get it done when it counted...
they should have moved some of their surplus D for scoring, like Vrbata when they had the chance, or a solid dman like Hamhuis... |

That is why we shouldn't bring back Hamhuis at any rate.
I think a Dman should be tough ,skilled ( puck mover) , or have a great shot. Canucks should hire Hamhuis as a coach.same as Maholtra and Auld. |

Garrisson has a great shot.. he literally damaged guys with it... still can't understand the logic of getting rid of him instead of Bieksa when JB and Linden were trying to get some cap room...
we'd at least have had 4 solid dmen if we'd have kept him... |

Could t hit the net. He is over rated as point producer. He had 11 pts this year with 6 goals . He also had 4 and 7 goals, with 26 points both years. He has only had one big year of scoring goals.
Bieksas numbers were similar but he added toughness at times. |

Sorry that was describing the D unit in total not everyone individually. You need that mix . Usually bottom pairing are the tougher guys |
