JB has to go with Matthews for first overall. Nux need someone to replace Hank as the 1st line centre in 3 years time, when Hank can be safely moved down to 3rd line center.
Matthews
Horvat
Sedin
Sutter
would the center depth 3 seasons from now.
So McCann traded or goes to wing? |

Given their damn luck, I am glad there is more talk of Laine possibly going 1st so Edmonton can go for him. I have a good feeling about Vancouver's chances though, I would be extremely happy with Matthews, the team needs a star at center aside from Henrik its been way too long - WhiteLie
Mathews would be unreal, that would give the team some hope after Henrik retires because personally I do not think Horvat will be that elite number one center, Mathews could be. Nothing against Horvat, he will be a top player for the next decade. I sure hope Baerstchi is for real, love what he did this year but will he continue to grow?? Hope so. |

This is where I would agree and also argue with you. I agree that horvat is not the type of player that elevates the play of his peers like Crosby, Stamkos, etc do. But that doesn't mean he can't be a #1 center. He is more like getzlaf where he wins faceoffs, plays hard, goes to the dirty area and can be counted on in any situation, whether it be PP, PK, or play a major part in that goal to tie the game in dying minutes. Laine will be that guy that could make that 1st line elite, while BoHo gives Laine the support he needs to do it. Like Backstrom(sorry I don't think he is Elite like many other #1 centers inthe league w/o Ovi) |

It is starting to get that vibe and I wonder whether anyone would change how that one went. Hall is definitely a great winger, one of the best in the game, but Seguin has versatility to play C and W and along with a very high skillset. In both that year and this current one, I hope for the C, though neither seem like bad picks - WhiteLie
i'm thinking Tyler was the better pick after the trade out of beantown... and his attitude adjustment. before that it was taylor all the way.... |

i totally agree with you.
which is also why you don't even need to put Bo in the 1C spot. with an elite winger or two, you could put in a "lesser" centreman on the first line and leave Bo as a solid two way 2C. |

With the 33rd pick if you can draft only the 2nd player to score 50 or more in the OHL in his draft -1 as well as joining only Jeff Skinner, John Tavares, Steven Stamkos, Patrick Kane as 50 goal scorers in their draft year in the past 15 years, do you do it?
