I was thinking more a conditional 2nd. like 20 goals/40points, or 40 points for the 2nd. I wouldn't trade Severson.

would have no problem taking Jost. Frankly looking at them Mcleod and Jost are basically the same player. Fast, playmaking centers, who god forbid, can actually win a face off. The player i want nothing to do with is dubois, I see a slow,ploding forward who will be a career AHLer or 4th liner on a bad team. Wouldn't be totally against moving down to the 15th to 18th spot, get a few extra picks and take either brown, bellows or kunin.

some scouts are concerned Mcleod's game wouldn't transfer to the NHL but i feel thats a concern with every player being drafted...

I was thinking, if we won the DL 1st overall, should we trade down. WIN and ARI could be targets, given they have they would have the 7th and 8th picks, plus the 15th and 16th/17th picks(not sure the specific place right now). I think it would depend where EDM is, if they pick Chychrun.

I would want both 1st from either team and possibly their 1st next year, but not sure it would work., that 2017 1st that is.

Keller/ Jost or trade down and pick up another second of possible. With New Jersey in dire need of restocking the prospect pool, no way Shero should be taking a chance on a guy who may or may not become an every day NHL player.

We don't really need any more middle 6 forwards either. And we aren't exactly deep enough to give up someone like severson unless we will be getting a legit 1st line player/prospect in return.

Matthews is exactly what we need. Only way I'd consider trading down is if we still get Laine/Puljujarvi + whoever they took 1st round last year + young top 4 D man.

And that is fine with me. You don't pass on a generational talent unless the other team goes overboard with their offer. Two first round picks is not even close to fair value.

it's not just about adding more picks. These players in 1-3 are potential franchise players. Most likely make an impact on the NHL next season. players you build around. The offer would have to be too good to pass.
