hexy says he will appeal the schenn suspension and also that biggest need is a scorer with size...

I would much rather "overpay" in terms of length of deal and $s for a legit top 4 R handed D man then anyone they could get for the the top 6 forwards.
It has been such a big hole for years and still is
unless voracek regains his confidence they need to think about replacing him on the right side of the #1 PP too... although I expect Jake will be much better next year - Marc D
If/when Provorov is on the team next year.....something I might consider, but if Mullen is here probably won't happen, is try 2 d men on the PP. Move Ghost to the Jake spot. Move G and Jake down further. Maybe move Schenn to PP2. Eventually we will need to roll 2 d men unit(s), because there's no way Provy, Sanheim, Ghost...maybe even Freidman down the line sit. Pp needs a major tweaking. |

Trade Schenn (or allow him to go on an offer sheet)and use that money towards signing Stamkos.

What if the Flyers were able to sign Stamkos to a reasonable deal. 5 years 10 million and then also land Vesey and Caggulia.
I know it's dreaming but that would change the roster quickly without giving up and asset and add scoring to the team instantly. |

this would be the old regime way of doing things
Stamkos on the market? you just know the Flyers would be all over that
now I doubt it, but it is fun to think about |

Yes please let me know.
Because I do think the Flyers can offer an attractive situation. Spots for both Caggulia and Vesey |

I would agree if Stamkos were 32. But he is 26. |

Gotta say, if they sign Stamkos I'm not going to be happy. There's no way he signs less than a 7 yr deal. NO WAY.
That would be 3 forwards in their mid 20's responsible for 1/3 of the payroll over the next 6 seasons. That can't work. |

I think people misinterpret some things Hextall says sometimes. Yes they won't spend money on guys like the old regime.(aging vet stars)
I think Stamkos is different because of the age. At 26 he can be part of the rebuild and you also can still draft and develop players. |

My biggest issue is that Schenn and Simmonds have size and scoring. And did absolutely nothing in the playoff...because no one could make plays for them, and they're not making plays for themselves too often.
I want a scorer with size, sure. Who doesn't? I just hope he's not neglecting that someone has to make plays for those power wingers too. I'd honestly rather get a PWF in FA than the draft though this year. If they can hit both those areas at once, fine. I also imagine Hexy knows what the fans want and is saying this to appease them a bit. He's about as open as a chastity belt. |

What if you can nab him for 4mil over two (2mil per)/
You take a flyer on something like that? Gives them time to acquire and develop some forward play. - mayorofangrytown
No I really dont care to see him on the Flyers at all over the guys they have |

Well, our best ES playmaker was injured for almost the whole series.
Ideally they would add the 6'3", 203 pound Jimmy Vesey for free... |

I co0uld see 7 and I can see 5. If he signed a 5 year deal he would be 31 at the end of it and still probably get another big deal. also if the cap goes up in the future that helps.
But since he has had injures I can also see a 7 secure deal too |

you could send G Jake and Stamkos out there but with Manning/Schultz/Amac types at the blueline the puck dies there nearly every time
its a five man unit and is only as good as the weakest link |

Before the blood clots, I'd say he possibly wouldn't go 7 to potentially cash in on two big deals but now that he has clots, I don't think he gambles with that and tries to get that long term deal to be with one club for the future |
