They had 111 points on a poopty team between them? How many did Nash have on a good team?
- LeftCoaster

Acquiring the Sedins would be the most stereotypically Rangers thing the Rangers could do

The team has stated the focus this offseason would be to strictly infuse youth and dump as many aging players as possible. The Sedins just don't make sense with the direction the team wants to go this summer.

The Rangers have enough Soft players. We dont need twins who use their faces as punching bags when times get tough. I mean for chrissakes, defend yourself!!!

It's the market, win at all cost, screw this drafting thing....that's their downfall. As you can see by the Rangers not selecting in the first round in four years, including this year.

All jokes aside, if Rags can get the sisters and trade off Nash/another bad contract, might be worth exploring only bc the sisters term ends shortly too...

For the record, I hope you win! That Tavares is a great young player.

It's not a smart move to make. Acquiring two aging players that play well in an open Western conference would not do well in the East (IMO). No reason to trade for players on the wrong side of their prime. Plus, there's too much mention about getting younger; and hopefully tougher, too.

To answer your question Nash had 36 pts by himself vs the 111 the Sedins had combined.

Although, over the past 3 seasons Nash averages 27.7 goals, 48 pts, and .71 pts per game while H Sedin averages 13.3 goals, 59.3 pts, and .79 pts per game. Pretty even if you ask me.

The other side of this is that I didn't consider this year's NYR team to be a good team as per the sub .500 record after the first 20 games.

It's not that the Sedins aren't good players. It's just that they aren't $7M players anymore than Nash is and they are 36 years old meaning it's all downhill from here.

Yes they're overpaid, I'll agree with you there. I hope AV convinces the Rangers to trade for them.

So what was Dan Boyle's family issue?
Or is it one of those things you cant talk or ask about so you don't know if it is a real issue or one conjured up to make an excuse for being distracted?

Can we convince the Pens to take M Staal and get Hagelin back? Sell them that this way Staal won't "nearly decapitate" Crosby anymore.

There again Staal did try to gouge Hank's eye out so there's that...

- Maskdman3

no but we did "steal" the prospect rangers were targeting in Lukas Bengtson

I saw an article that talked about Boyle's meltdown and at the end of it, they showed a chart that has his Corsi vs the rest of the team and the article concluded that Boyle was one of our top defensemen according to analytics and likely has 2 more years of quality hockey left in him.
