Stop. You are tying my dream of Travis Zajac for RNH and two fists.

I think Carolina would be a possibility with their cap issues, but doubt they're on the hit list! Staal might convince Rick to go back with him??
- Aussiepenguin

I really doubt they'd be on his approved list, I think people forget that before Nash was traded to the Rangers, Nash was traded to Nashville and he blocked it

I don't think he's interested in one of those blah NHL cities

I think he'd go to any original 6 team, we could do another Gomez for McDonagh trade, Montreal had a miserable year, Rick Nash is the tonic

What does it mean when they say he has a list of 10-12 teams he'd accept a trade to? Like...it's either the list is 10, 11, or 12 teams. It's a set a number. It wasn't written into his contract that it needs to be 10-12. Wtf is 10-12?

I think 10-12 just means the press doesn't know the exact amount, it's speculation

Not sure there is a trade market for Rick Nash? Nothing personal against the guy, but he has a yuge cap hit and 3 of his last 4 regular seasons he has only averaged 0.5 points per game. Plus he is Casper in the playoffs, so who would take that on? Yes, there is always a stupid GM but to me this is a tough sell at best

There will be w/some little cap retained. His term of contract isn't much left and is a probable 30g scorer in league. Teams will take a chance for sure.....

If you guys are dead set on moving Nash and can deal with a mediocre return just to clear his Cap, Montreal will definitely listen. Their never ending quest for offense continues.

Not here to troll. It's really been amazing what the Rangers have been able to do the last few years and I've hated watching them (which means they are doing something right). They really seemed to get it, bringing up their kids, having drafted well, and having cap space to make a shrewd outside addition. But the minute MSL became available they scrapped that idea. May be time to trade someone of huge value to recoup the draft picks they inexplicably blew.

Good blog Jan, I thought Torts was zone and AV was man on man. I don't think other then McDonagh and now Skjei that they have the foot speed for man on man.

Great blog as always. A few "outsider" thoughts:

1) AV will probably be back next season but on a very, very short leash - and rightly so.

2) I really do feel bad for Henrik. There is only so much any elite goalie can do after having played so much hockey and getting left out to dry most of the season. I do think he's still got at least 2-3 years of excellent goaltending left in him.

3) I really don't think you guys should blow it up. I'm sure it was a frustrating season for you, as fans. But, I think with a few shrewd moves, you could easily be right back in the mix for a long playoff run.

There needs changes to the staff. Ulfie did well last season, not sure what the hell happened this year. Arniel can go. I have not seen such a miserable power(less) play since Perry Pern ran it. Add to that some really, really bad line changes that led to odd-man rushes and many goals, is fault on the coach(es).

I am surprised not many have mentioned signing Lucic. I don't think he re-upped with LA yet.

Nash would look good on a line with Eichel or O'Reilly... Buffalo could take on the cap hit without issue also. Not sure what they'd have to trade to get him but he's worth a look. How many years left on his contract?

I mentioned him yesterday. He is such a pain in the arse to play against, I would like him on the Rangers. Someone with a little attitude is what this team has been missing for years, and maybe he can rub off on Kreider and Hayes to use their size more.

Lucic already said he doesn't want to play anywhere but LA. Can't imagine they don't find a way to re-sign him.
