Nice.
Found this on Elite prospects
Bengtsson is a defenseman who stands out with his terrific skating ability and offensive instincts. Owns excellent acceleration and agility, allowing him to rush the puck up the ice. Of below-average size, he still protects the puck well when skating. Manning the point on the powerplay, he has a great one-timer and quick decision-making ability. Always gets back defensively, but could certainly improve his overall game, given his hockey smarts. - MattStrat
Yeah, there's not much out there on him but from what I've read it seems hes a pretty good get. Was heavily coveted/scouted as a bit of a late bloomer. I also read his closest player comparison from the SHL was Anton Stralman in 06-07....I'll take that lol.
Between he and Prow, may end up nothing more than depth, but that's pretty nice work by JR as the D cupboard was pretty bare. |

Yes definitely. There's no risk to these guys at all because nothing at all was given up to obtain them. If they work out great, if they dont, what odds. I love these kinds of signings. |

It seems the Rangers fans were pretty stoked about him.

Pens seem to be targeting great skaters who are smart. Seems like the smart thing to do though these last 2 I think are on the smaller side. - dbell646
I believe we still cannot attract the top tier of undrafted prospects (or ones who just don't sign with their team), but instead we are grabbing possibly the most talented/smartest... but undersized players.
Almost like we're doing the Boise State football route when they had 4 or 5 years of being a top 5 team. Usually smaller than most other top teams, but faster and just as talented. |

Pens pk needs to play a tight box and not chase this series. Man up and block shots. I would like to know how many Ovi onetimers were blocked by Adams in 09. Very well could be the difference ib that entire series. - Grinder47
So the Flyers sat back in a tight box and blocked shots in the first 3 games and got tortured, got aggressive and took away time/space and completely shut down the Caps PP in the next 3 and you're suggesting they should got with the approach that Washington has feasted on all season because Adams blocked some shots in '09? Insightful. |

Grinder would rather lose the right way than win using our current identity. Hence why he's still talking about passively sitting back and blocking shots and Adams' performance in '09. Not saying blocking shots isn't important and Cole recently talked about how he's looking forward to blocking Ovechkin's bombs, but that's not what's been making us successful. |

What happened to the Flyers in game 1-3 was they did sit back and block shots, and they blocked a hell of a lot of them.
Unfortunately the blocked puck was then either failed to be cleared, or bounced of a defender right back to the Caps. Carlson scored a few on single and double deflections off defenders and guys setting up screens. He has a heavy shot that gets through.
I think you have to pick your poison. Shot blocking can work for a while, especially if the Pens defenseman then control and clear the puck. The Flyers were bad at getting the puck out of the zone, and their PP just kept setting up and getting shots, that eventually went in.
If it were me I'd focus on taking away time and space from Backstrom first, and then Carlson. But there are many ways to do it. Having quick PKers will help you guys a lot. |

And that's what we're good at. We ended up with one of the top PK unit in the league by aggressively attacking the PP unit and flipping the play the other way. Anyone who thinks we should stray from that at this juncture is out of their minds |

Washington might be the favorite but I like the Pens chances if Murray can stay solid. Hoping the Pens match up the Crosby line against Ovie's. Instead of another offensive shootout, I'd love to see Crosby shut him down line to line.
Will be interesting to see which Penguins line get's the easier matchup against Washington's 3rd line. That line will be the one that wins the series for Pittsburgh. I'm guessing it will be Malkin's. |

Once the pk coaching came to their senses and started attacking the Caps favorite shot spots, from Carlson at the point and Ovi in the slot, we were able to shut them down, they still had good numbers on the series, because of the 5 PPG aberration game, but after that defensive adjustment we were able to hold steady which lead to forcing a game 6.
If you guys have Hagelin harass the point man and (Cullen/Fehr) Shadow Ovi, I have no doubt youll be able to shut their pk down for the time being until they switch it up. |

I agree with everything you said and its exactly why you don't sit back in the passive box against a team like the Caps, unlike a lot of teams who will waste the time and space they're given trying to get the perfect shot(not calling any team in particular out...Pens), Wash is going to just keep shooting until something goes in or they get a lucky bounce. Blocking shots is part of the game and needs to be a priority regardless of the kill system a team is running but sitting back in the passive box with all 5 players on the ice trying to play goalie is playing right into Wash's hands and is suicide. Hakstol caught on after 3 games and adjusted.

I'm not so sure Washington is really the favorite, I know betting lines don't always mirror popular opinion but both the betting lines and popular opinion seem to agree in this case that this series is 50/50.

When a team starts thinking they have to switch poop up with lines and PP configurations, thats when you know you have them. Saw it happen in the Rags series. Yes, there'll always be small adjustments from game to game but when things start getting a major overhaul, its usually not good for that team. |

This series could be where signing Kessel really pays off. We are going into this series with three legit scoring lines, the Caps dont.
I cant wait for this series to start. Its going to be great hockey. |

Anyone else getting tired of being called the hottest team in the league. We've been the hottest team since December, how many games do we have to play this way before we lose the Hottest team moniker?
Its like people think we are going to cool off. We arent cooling off, this is what Penguins hockey is now. |
