I knew it was coming, once they announced a hearing, but thought it would be two games. I thought 3 was a bit harsh. It also did not surprise me based on how DOPS operates, which is largely based on oiling the squeaky wheel and putting out fires rather than actually focusing on specific goals to increase player safety.

That's a myth. Small players bust no more than big ones. In fact, smaller players who score more than bigger ones in juniors have a higher rate of success. Every player is an individual...I mean for every Simmonds there are more Tye McGinns...applies for everyone.
If the best player is 5'10", 6'1" or 6'6"...idc as long as they're the best player. Few things I hate as much as tape measure scouting. People see a 6'5" prospect and fill in all his deficiencies with the fact he's 6'5". Not talking about you to be clear. - Mononoke
Dont worry boo. I feel the same way. I dont think it is as much of a myth as you think. I think there is bias their entire career. The 6'5" guy gets drafted over the small guy. He gets moved up the team and lines over the small guy. He gets promoted to the NHL in a more favorable position. I think its happening less now that skill has become so important |

Buying him out doesn't make sense. One more year and he's gone. Maybe he should just retire. I'm sure hextal will allow him to seek a trade this offseason and he'll see nobody would even take him at a huge discount.
However, I looked at our cap and it sits at 10 mil in space with a stagnant cap. Wtf. I've never seen this for the Flyers. Imagine moving streit. Or umberger. Or both !!!!! Omfg!!!!! Or mcdud. Lolololol.
Now off to find that new shiney object to spend millions on because we can. - jmdodgeser4

In regards to Schenn suspension:
I know the DOPS uses to the videos to let fans know why a certain hit was suspendable. but I wonder if they would release some videos explaining why certain hits aren't? A questionable hit like Chimera on Voracek. Explain why that was not a suspendable hit. Maybe it would help clarify to fans why one situations is and one isn't.
Try to inform the fans of their thinking so they are better informed. |

Is there anyway for Schenn to dispute the suspension or for the team to get involved? Honest question cause I haven't bothered to look it up myself. - EducatedOpinion

Yeah.
I was just trying to find a way to kind of clarify what they look at.
With Schenn, I thought the hit on Richards in game 1 or 2 was more of a launching then this one.
Then you have Chimera board Voracek and there is nothing.
Give a clarification as to what is being looked at so your fan base isn't so confused. |

I wish they would have "bullied" Ovechkin. He ran over one Flyer after another all series long. |

i will not utter that stupid (frank)ing word. fancy stats can kiss my ass. i so don't care about them. that said, i still respect the people that attempt to utilize them in a helpful manner. it's not going to be me.

For sure. Giroux, Voracek, and Simmonds were all MIA. Not going to win without them producing. Amazing they pushed the series to a game 6. |
