Quenneville: "We felt we had enough ammunition here to find a way to win another one."
Except when you scratch some of the ammunition for much worse players and only start firing on all cylinders in Game 5 |

Some guy commenting all over Mark Lazerus' twitter is saying we need to trade Panarin and Anisimov for hugging Tarasenko in the handshake line. Says they should have been devastated and crying and the fact that they weren't shows they don't care at all about losing
ETA: he's actually running around to comment that on all the beat writers' twitter accounts
I love that idea for adjusting the hard cap - maria_wyeth
Yeah-- well both 15 and 72 played hard and showed up-- I'd take both of them on my team any time--
There was a discussion a few months ago we had on this blog about the homegrown salary cap exception idea-- some people had some really great suggestions on it--

I don't believe Q for a minute when he suggests there were no injury issues. He's not going to say anything unless it was something like what Oduya sustained in 2014 against the Kings. For one, a GM won't appreciate a coach reciting a laundry list of the nagging injuries on the team if he's trying to make deals. After all, GM speak means everything is fine, we like our team, we see upside with so and so, etc. Never talk down any asset, ever.
I still think Toews played hurt most of the season. A down season like this just doesn't happen at age 26-27 for no reason. It's not because of no Saad, either. This line carried Carcillo before. Even without Hossa being healthy he should still be able to show us what he has, double teamed or not. |

I certainly think he was playing hurt after the door took him out, if not before |

Only two goalies from the west have won since Belfour last won it. I don't expect it to be different this time, either. |

The GMs vote for this award...very odd that Crawford was left out. I think the award it Holtby's, but Crawford should have been nominated. |

GAA and wins. Quick also had 10 more starts, partly due to Crawford's injury at the end of the regular season. Crawford had a higher save% and more shutouts. |

Mashinter is a free agent now, right?
I'm thinking Stan needs to get rid of him entirely to stop Q from (frank)ing around with him in the lineup again next season |

Agreed on both counts. And before Martinez got injured, Quick had a better blue line in front of him than Crawford did... really don't know why Quick got the nod over him |

Maybe Stan and Q can come to an agreement that Stan will get rid of Runblad if Q agrees to get rid of Mashinter (or maybe Scotty can suggest it...) |

What I heard about Shaw and Kruger from the organization's perspective a few months ago was "not going anywhere." Some of that may depend on Shaw's agent, but he is RFA. - John Jaeckel
Hope someone learned the lesson of: Niemi isn't going anywhere else. |

Is it correct that teams can tender an offer sheet to RFA's starting July 1?
Any guesses on which rival teams will tender an offer to Shaw in a strategic attempt to disrupt the Hawks-- I would think that Panik will also get an offer sheet--
Bowman better make some moves on the early side and NOT wait too long-- |

Sign him for 8 years at the current league minimum. |

Is Shaw the type you offer sheet? I love the guy, but I don't know if you break the bank for him (which would have happened with Saad).
Up to around $3.6 million we'd get a 2nd round pick as compensation. From $3.6 to $5.5 it's a first and a third round pick.
I don't see anyone paying more than $3.6 million for Shaw. But if they did would you consider turning down a first and third to match? |

Quick? What a joke. If it weren't for his D men/5 man D unit his numbers would be abysmal. He loses his net constantly going for the flashy first save |

Man, Drouin is really fun to watch out there, great vision. TB is a fun team to watch, just not sure they can stop the Pens or Caps.
What a joke Quick over Crawford. Seriously, how do the GMs not see what everyone else does? |

Too bad Stan didn't pony up Gustaffson +Tuevo(as JJ reported) for the Whiny (but super-talented) winger...he's been outstanding so far since being recalled |
