They will bring in a vet depth Dman on a PTO or cheap signing or trade for an established #2 type.

How many of you have actually read the GoT books? If not, "you know nothing!"

SO MUCH is missing from the HBO series.

Probably why I am enjoying it so much. I live in ignorant bliss.

Injured almost the whole year. Jan. 3rd was his last game, I believe he suffered a season ending shoulder injury.

He may just already be slated for the marlies barring a tremendous camp.

I've read all 5 books twice now waiting for #6. The wait is even more frustrating than the differences in the show.

Hopefully by the time you're finished reading Dance with Dragons, #6 will be out already.

What's the wait time? 3 more years?

It might possibly be written by a ghost writer by then. He must have the world longest writers block.

be interesting if they move a couple of their young d men for a couple extra picks

or... if they are looking at someone like shattenkirk... young D prospects would likely be sent back the other way

a move like that would drop someone like hunwick down to the 3rd pairing (where he belongs) and shattenkirk would be a great top pairing addition, as he is a rightie and rielly shoots left.

like i said... be an interesting offseason... there are so many directions the leafs could take atm.

- Dozzer

Rielly-Shattenkirk
Gardiner-Zaitsev
Hunwick-Corrado/insert prospect here

Would not be that bad of a D corps next year.

Gonna still need a starting goalie before it really counts, but we both know Lou is already on that

What is really encouraging is Connor Brown playing absolutely lights out, he was great with the Leafs as well.

I remember someone here saying he will amount to nothing because he saw him play and was not impressed.

Who the hell was it, think it was PrinceL guy.

Yeah wasn't he almost a PPG while he was up? 5 in 6 or 6 in 8 or something like that. definitely not a bust, IMO

What side does he play? I'd like to see Lupul become "Lou rae jepsen'd" and replaced by the likes of Brown, Hyman or Leivo.

Took a gaze into the crystal ball and the names that floated inside were, Bishop and Anderson. Just delivering the message.

He is a right shot that can play the left side but is a right winger.

Those 2 are really making it tough on Anaheim and Tampa based on their playoff peformances, aren't they?

Gotta think Gibson and Vasilevsky aren't goin anywhere.

reminds me of the Habs a few years back with Halak

If Stammer doesn't re-sign don't they have enough money for Bishop and all the RFA's?

I went back and watched the battle Wildlings vs White Walkers, then the season 5 finale before watching last night. That battle is so intense and badass.

Agreed about Danaerys. I think with Tyrion in the mix it might get better but for the most part it drags.

- markmark

Big, big fight coming on her side of things. Not sure when they will get to it, but I would imagine at some point this season we see her ride a dragon into a massive fight at Mereen. This I know.

If you want a young pair of D men that are responsible in the D zone, Harrington and Percy would be a good 5th and 6th, both can kill penalties, Harrington is physical, Percy is sound positional wise and can move the puck.
- LeafMan

Exactly my assessment. I think Percy could be a very serviceable 2 - way d-man.
I think there's a lot of options on D moving forward past next season though I still think we need a solid young right D to play with Rielly. If we can't acquire one through trade (Vatanen, Trouba, Dumba, etc. I'm against Shattenkirk), then we'll have to get lucky in the Draft.

Rielly - ???
Gardiner - Corrado
Percy - Zaitsev

I like those pairings......and you still have Harrington, Carrick, Loov, Marincin and Valier waiting in the wings.

I was thinking about this a few days ago, A possible target might be Fowler if Anaheim has to dish out big on their RFA's.

Anderson, Pirri, Rakell, Vatanen and Lindholm.

I think it's either something to do with her OR he will Warg into his direwolf (if he hasn't already).
- markmark

Nah. I thought that might be the case when reading the books, but the show really hasn't featured the whole Warging thing much. I think they'd have used it a bit more if the plan was for Jon to eventually use that for his "rebirth" or whatever.

I am expecting it has to be the red lady using her magicks to bring him back.

**SPOILER BELOW**

Kit Harrington filmed for this season. So either he is back as himself, or they are pulling a very sneaky trick on everybody.

always said, let the kids play, especially on the blue line . Let them learn together with the big club.

Rielly - Hunwick
Gardiner - Russian dude
Percy - Harrington ?

where does that leave guys like Corrado, Marincin, and Carrick?

- MCharisma91

Carrick is a lock i think... Corrado is gone imo... Marincin i'm not to sure Babs seems to like him and he had a decent showing last 15-20 games. Still fairly young and big guys usually take longer to developed so he still could end up being a good NHL D man, I could see the Leafs maybe signing him 1-2 years

wasnt it shanny that was saying that they were going to see what happened at the draft lottery first and where they go and what they attempt to do will be effected by that?
