I'm not debating whether or not ROR is captain material, because I think he is. I just don't think there's a rush to disrespect our current captain to give it to him. Lol

It's not disrespect we're trying to win

No my point is he plays hard when playoffs are gone and does nothing when we need him

That's a great captain

- gerbe75pts

I don't think that's by choice it just takes him a bit to get going. He seems to turn up towards the end of the year, so maybe he'll end up helping us to the playoffs next year.

I think he's giving his all every game. His all is just inconstant because he's a geezer.

Is not about that he took all the heat this year after every game talking to the pr where the (frank) was our so called captain ? ROR played every game like its his last
Our captain plays like an all star for the last ten games .. ROR took care of Sam what did our captain do ?

Your going to tell me he becomes good like an all star vs playoffs teams at the end but he's too old vs teams in October etc that are not fighting hard yet

You sound foolish, Gionta played well all season. He's not taking the C off Gionta so this is all for nothing.

You seen that as well I see, I love it when they look at the coaches challenge on the 3" monitor.

You can disagree all you want but he puts up points when it's way too late
Where the hell was oct etc I'm 100 % sure if you look at his stats nothing half of the year then 15 points or some poop the last 10 games

When Gionta's contract is up the C will change. I don't think it's really that big a deal to the players anyways.

While he wont be taking the C off Gionta, he did NOT play well all season. He only played well the last two months

He did this season...Jack and Sam stepped up.

I think you are over valuing a letter on a jersey.

- Stripes77

Overvaluing and exaggerating? He never does that.

Gerbs, you are wrong on this one.

A leader (captain) does not have to be the best player. Gionta is the captain because he has the most experience and has been through all the growing pains that the Sabres young guys will go through. And then he found success. He knows what it takes.

Sure, RoR would be a good captain, but I am sure he is already a voice in the room and a leader on the ice. Letters on the jersey mean nothing. The guys that know how to lead, do just that. I am sure there are probably a handful of guys on every team that could be a captain.

It was posted on Spector's site that the Sabres may be one of 3 teams interested in Jimmy Howard, Not going to happen.
