Trevor Lewis is very under rated and would be a good addition to many teams. He could easily play top six on some teams if given the opportunity. Totally so good at both ends of the rink. By the way Michael, excellent blog this morning. E. Kane made a little progress this year but I still like the leopard comparison, they do not change their spots, imo

I am a big fan of redemption, and I'm squeezing really hard for Kane.

He gave a really good interview on locker cleanout day. I tried to find a link but can't.

And for what it's worth, when people are surprised to see they have been cast as "bad guys" and feel there is no good justification for the reputation they develop, lots of times they start to play that role out of a misguided bitterness.

And when they're given a second chance, and judged with an open mind, many times you find out that they themselves were right - there is no justification for the bad guy reputation.

Kane ROR Stamkos
Mathews Eichel Reinhart

Wow...

I think Nelson plays before Franson

Risto Bogo
McCabe Pysyk
Nelson Gorges

Maybe Pysyk with Gorges and Nelson with McCabe

It's not awful but it could be better

Now make a top9 & figure in Vesey, Caguila or both?!
I'd tentatively go something like this...

Eichel-Stamkos-Reinhart
-I think Jack would do just fine on the wing, and potentially be even more explosive without the defensive zone responsibilities a center has

Kane-O'Reilly-Ennis
-could be a really nice 2way line that plays against other teams' top players

Vesey-Matthews-Caggulia
-let the rookies ease into it on the 3rd line, but that skill would probably score a lot of goals like back when we had Roy & Vanek on our 3rd line

Then there are guys like Bailey and Fasching who you could plug and play on the 3rd

Foligno Larsson and Gionta on the 4th.....

I don't think I would do Matthews for Subban. It wouldn't be for Subban's play as a defensemen, he's great. But for me, I find him irritating when he takes his cheap shots and then won't answer the bell. He's not the only one who does that, though, Marchand and Phaneuf come to mind also, but still His 9 million cap hit would be a hell of an issue also. Plus as great as Matthews is, I'm not sure how easy it would be to get Subban out of Montreal, the guy has committed 10 million of his own money to a children's hospital in the city that fights cancer. That's a gesture that goes a long with people, it might become a P.R. nightmare for the Candians management to move him.

I think the roster does, too. Bylsma specifically said he did.

Ya, they were playing well at the end of the season, albeit it against generally lesser teams but hey.
I'm getting kinda pumped for the draft and fre agency...can't wait...but don't want to wish the early part of summer away either...so. Just going to enjoy the next two months...especially with Patch writing these blogs..we are set up nice for some good discussions along the way.
I can't tell you how much I would love it if the Sabres got even the 3rd lottery ball...any of those would set-up a glorious summer

The Bills should draft the best field goal kicker possible, can't score in the red zone so better get points some how.
