You have said it before yourself, you usually don't take Dmen in the first round unless they are sure things. - VANTEL
I'm pretty sure many teams have been taking not sure thing D in the 1st round for quite a while now. Did you know that Risto was that good? how about Karlsson? Other Carlson? didn't think so, nobody did. |

I miss Nucker, he was always up for a good prospects chat....come back Nucker! - LeftCoaster
Flagged. Head over to HF. All he does is trash the organization over there. It's a real treat |

Seems like one a draft at least for the past ten years. How many forward busts do we need to see before realizing it's just as much of a gamble? |

Forwards is a much safer bet. There is always a chance. We are just telling each other stuff we already know.
There are just as many Dmen that turn out to be stars in later rounds as there are in first round picks. There are first round busts and first round prospects that make it.
I am just saying looking at this class of Dmen there are no standouts like Jones Ekblad. It's a crapshoot. |

No, there isn't. I feel like you and I have already gone over this so many times. There are a handful out of the second round and a few below that, the vast majority come out of the first round.
Show me a list of stars and we can go through it again if you want.

Zhukenov ended up having a pretty solid season for his first in NA. Close to PPG in regular season and PPG in playoffs. I thought he looked fantastic at camp last year and will be interesting to see how he develops.
Does anyone know how the CHL draft for foreigners work? I know zhukenov was drafted in the Q but was he also drafted in the other leagues but selected the Q or do all 3 leagues combine for their draft? |

That's a good video, I'm going to play it for my mom when she starts to (inevitably) get frazzled over a holiday. |
