Part of me hopes that this early embarrassing exit might piss all of the players off and make them play angry for a change. Nash will probably still be completely mellow. Maybe he needs a playoff series against the Blue Jackets.

Chayka just wrapped his first season with the Coyotes after being hired almost a year ago at the age of 25 as an assistant general manager specializing in analytics.

I agree with a lot of this, but I think Stepan would be traded, not Brassard
- jimbro83

Yeah I thought about this alot. Obviously I like Stepan's age over Brassard's. Stepan also has the better PPG average and is by far the better 2 way player. Stepan is also the only RH good shooter we have and we will have one RH shot on each of our top scoring lines and potentially each PP unit. To me, thats worth the extra $1.5M for Stepan. But of course, Stepan will be more coveted in a trade with the other team. I think I'm more willing to let Brassard go than Step.

Also forgot to mention, buying out Girardi really hinges on our ability to sign Yandle to 6M or less. If you can't resign Yandle, then you bite the bullet and keep G. Let him play 3rd line to keep him more fresh every night. Then you groom Skjei as and offensive weapon and try to make up Yandle's points loss there.

I am also taking into account that Stepan doesn't have any type of NTC and Brassard does.

And, if the Rangers sign Stamkos, they need Brassard's 5 mil a year over Stepan's 6.5

I am one of the biggest Stepan guys around, but I think the only way to a Stamkos signing is trading Stepan

You think Stepan would be traded because he has more value, or because you would rather have Brassard?

Why would Stamkos want to come to New York when the team looks like it is declining and Hank is getting older

Just throwing it out there

I think it's because he doesn't have a NTC and he has a higher cap hit.

I'm not a Brassard fan. Honestly think he gets a bit too much praise on here. Very streaky and rarely shoots. If he shot more, he would put up some great numbers. Has an incredible wrist shot.

I am only bringing it up as the only way Stamkos could sign here

I don't see them having Stamkos, Stepan and Brassard down the middle, it's too expensive and none of the 3 are third line centers

IMO, a Stepan trade is the only way Stamkos is a NYR next year

I still want Kreider on the team over anyone else but at this point the team needs to make moves to get better. If he is part of it then so be it. But only for a trade that makes us better. Don't just get rid of him to save cap space then I am gonna Johnny Tsunami this place

Couldn't do it. I will never get another one because it will never compare to my golden. Wouldn't have been fair to the dog. I do still love goldens though. Except my neighbors, that one is an bumhole for some reason.

You could be right. But if it boils down to 1.5M, I would see if there's another manuever that could be made like burying Glass in the minors or something. Best thing would be if the cap increased to 75M.

I just wonder if its even going to be an option. I know it will be with us on HB, but I really wonder if management is looking at that.

That's my biggest problom with him. He just could careless wether they won or lose, and for some reason it feels like the whole team took that to heart now.

This team needs a facelift and he's the poster boy for it. I really haven't much against him as a player. He's personality I just can't take anymore

I actually want Kreider back, but at 3rd line money. I think he could be an excellent 3rd liner during the season, and if need be, move him up in the playoffs.
