The only good thing about this season is no playoff heart attacks and no major stress. We all saved our bodies a few years with this quick exit

Wait till the draft and the summer. Have a feeling there are going to be some wtf moments.

I think I haven't had to look because of course he is, but he's also getting older and expensive.

Lundqvist:

Thank u all for the support during the year & I promise u that it will be our mission to prove any doubters we can come back better next yr

NHL is so competitive that success can never be taken for granted. With a vision/hard work I believe we can get there, I hope u do 2! #NYR

Agree, but come springtime he forgets how to score, he has no playoff grit, he us no game changer, that is for sure.

yeah, but, just something to point out that he has some trade value

there are going to be 29 disappointed teams this summer, not only the NYR

maybe a team thinks Rick Nash could get them over the hump

at this time last year, nobody wanted to touch Phil Kessel with a 10 ft pole

Here's what I think our gameplan should be. You go hard for Stamkos. Our team has lacked the difference making skater that dominates every time he's on the ice. We go $11M for max term and lock him up. (-$11M)

First we buy out Girardi. The defense was the biggest issue for our team this year and there wasn't enough offense to make up for it. So its time to make big changes on our blueline. Buying out Girardi will free up about 4.5M and Boyle retiring is another 4.5M. (+9M)

Resign Yandle at $6M. Resign Kreider to Bridge $4M, Resign Miller $2.25. Resign Hayes $1.5M

Next you trade Brassard. If you get Stamkos, Brassard will be the easiest to trade with only a $5M cap hit and he still produces. You run your centers Stamkos, Stepan, Hayes, Lindberg. (+5M)

Moore has run his course with us. Lindberg assumes Moores role. (+1.5M) Nothing can be done about Glass, you let him play out final year and play his role.
Stalberg can walk too, I liked him but I would rather use the $1M elsewhere.

You start playing Buchnevich, Lindberg, Hrivik into the lineup.

The big question is Nash. I think you let him play his value up. He's rock bottom in value right now, there's no hurt trying to play him with Stamkos and see if he becomes the 40 goal scorer again. You can decide to move him before or on the deadline.

Kreider Stamkos Nash
Zuccarello Stepan Miller
Buchnevich Hayes Hvrik
Glass Lindberg Fast

McDonagh McIlrath
Yandle Skjei
Staal Klein

Lundqvist, Raanta

Total Cap: about $74M

I think Henrik's tweets give a pretty good indication what would happen if he was asked to waive his NMC

I like this partially because I still don't want to give up on Nash.

Gotta figure once Stamkos comes here he turns into Brad Richards 2.0
