Post his goal totals each year, and for years he didn't play 82 games (lockout included) prorate his goal totals. |

Rick Nash only has 2 years left on his deal. While he might not bring back top talent in a trade, I def think he has trade value out there. |

I would imagine the Rangers would have to retain some relatively significant money in order to get anything of value back for him. |

I don't think he's a dire situation at all, honestly. He's not what he was but he's still a good player.
My thought process is that no rebuilding team is going to want to give up futures for him and most of the legitimate Cup contenders don't have cap room for him. That leaves you the bubble teams, some of which will have cap issues and may/may not be interested.
If the Rangers were to eat ~$2M of his salary, that may facilitate a trade...but then you're talking about retaining ~$2M of Nash's salary, and potentially buying out either/both of Girardi/M. Staal. That would be a ton of dead money for the Rangers to be spending on guys not playing for them. |

I think you took a look at it and realized that Nash is one of the best goal scorers in modern NHL history, including the past 3-4 years. |

I think I haven't had to look because of course he is, but he's also getting older and expensive. |

The only good thing about this season is no playoff heart attacks and no major stress. We all saved our bodies a few years with this quick exit |

He tried that already, but the bottle of rum found its way over his glove hand shoulder and chick flick found the five hole.
