An outsiders view. I think AV sucks. Hate the guy. From a selfish standpoint I hope he's still coaching you guys next year. |

Gone/traded: Boyle Girardi Nash Fast Hayes Moore Yandle. Nash/Hayes/Fast all traded for picks and prospects. - nyrangers9479
Fast deserves to stay and he's making peanuts. Guy works his tail off. Moore is a FA. Keith is a goner although I think Gorton is gonna need to bring him back based on what they coughed up. |

I doubt this happens but if the Kings fire Sutter I really wonder if he would be a good fit for this team. |

Works hard yes. But where does he fit on this team? He doesn't have the size/physicality to be a 4th liner, doesn't finish enough/produce enough to be in the top 9. Isn't an elite PKer, doesn't play the PP. Like the kid a lot but I don't see him as a fit, but he could help us add some picks. |

overall, it was just a really irritating year, some highs, way more lows and the belief that they were just going to turn it on in the playoffs, flip the switch, was just not going to happen.
They aren't just burning the whole thing down, they won't be a lottery team next year, they'll retool this summer and probably be good enough to make the playoffs next year.
in the post game Alain Vigneault didn't have the demeanor of someone who thought he coached his last game and I don't think he has unless something drastic happens in the exit interviews.
I do think Girardi will get bought out https://www.capfriendly.c...ut_calculator/dan-girardi
I don't think he is tradeable and it creates 3.75 million additional cap space for next year and it's the only realistic option, IMO |

Hayes had a bad year but may have been a sophomore slump. I think he has potential to turn things around based on his rookie year performance. |

I will say this, I think Kevin Klein's season went down the tubes once he was made the top pairing right handed defenseman
Klein is a good 2nd pairing guy and a great 3rd pairing guy.
No business on top pair |

Good Morning fellas, I haven't been on here nearly as much as I used to but I just need to say this. I whole heartedly disagree that this team is done going for the cup. I agree with Jimmy that this team needs a long mental break from hockey. I think they need a long summer to just heal there bodies. This team has played a lot of hockey the last couple of seasons and yea its really f*cking disappointing but they are human beings. These guys go through such a grueling season that I am a firm believer they need a break and I think they have deserved that break. Just have to keep things in perspective here and I am the first one along with Vin to get worked up when they play like shyt.
Truth is this team is not far off at all and just because they got knocked out by far the hottest team in hockey you can't look at it just from that standpoint. Look at it as a whole and where there need to be improvements. (Just to note Pitt is going to the finals. Idc what anyone says that team can flat out fly and they are playing there best hockey at the perfect time. They are executing that system that sullivan has in place perfectly. I wish we had a player like Connor Sheary.) Anyway improvements that this team needs to make don't need to be that drastic. Let's try to be realistic here...
AV- He isn't going anywhere so everyone can just move on from that discussion. I am sorry he has earned at least another crack at this with what he has done. I think the players respect him and play hard for him every night. Nobody else out there I would want anyway. I think he is a damn good coach personally and eventually every team needs a change behind the bench but his time hasn't come yet.
Not trying to drag this out but these are the changes I am making.
I would try and trade Nash. I thought this team played it's best hockey when he was out which is ironic but they don't need him. Idk what they could get for him but I would explore that option. Realistically I don't know if it's a possibility but I would try.
Question for all of you if you have the cap space who would you rather have on this team Yandle or Stamkos? Count me in as someone who wants Stamkos badly. Doesn't mean we are going to get him but I am going full press on him and throwing whatever money we have towards him.
Forwards I am keeping for next season.
Stepan, Zuccs, Brassard, Kreider, Miller, Fast, Lindberg, Glass,
Bring Buchnevich over.
Defenseman I am keeping. I don't think they are buying out Girardi but that's just me. As bad of a season he had and looked like he aged 20 years over night I think he is someone who needs a break badly. The guy was playing with a shattered knee cap and I sure there is much more that we don't know with regards to his injuries.
Staal, Girardi, Mcdonagh, Skeij, Mcilrath, Klein.
Dom Moore needs to go and they need someone younger and faster. Special teams killed this team this year. |

Wow alwolf to say the team played hard for AV is a hard one to swallow . The players took more games off than played hard this year . This was a puzzling year to figure out what the Rangers were . Stretches were I'd write them off then bounce back to look like a top flight team . More games than not they didn't want to play the defensive part of the game . For some reason couldn't close out periods or games , once the strongest part of this team . I'm baffled by this club and where they head from here . |

You know what's funny is that everyone blames AV for there defensive flaws this season but nobody wants to point the finger at Ulf Samuelson... Just saying. |

True and it's not all on the d-men , the forwards were terrible in their own zone . But and this is a big but . AV puts in the system that players and assistants coaches are to play . If players or coaches don't want or can't play the way AV wants to play then make the necessary changes . This is why one is called the head coach |

AV won't be fired, but they need to find a way to make some roster moves. The players are just to comfortable in there. No one is threatening their ice time. They need some new blood to push them |

I believe Buchnevich's KHL contract expires this week, get him signed immediately, don't wait and let SKA offer him a big contract also get Kovacs over to North America, get him on a junior team for 1 year, Rangers don't have a lot of prospects and the ones they do have need to speed up the development a little

If they can get Buchnevich over here, there is no doubt this guy is going to be a stud offensively. The guy has a rocket for a shot and he isn't afraid to shoot which is something we need. |

It's gonna be a long 12 months....the regular season just doesn't do it for me anymore. Maybe the Rangers need to be in a dog fight for a playoff spot to get me going earlier |

Vin you make an excellent point brotha. This team has gone to battle throughout the years and I think there is a closeness between the players which is great but I think they are to comfortable. It's a tricky situation but there should be some type of move to light a fire up there asses. We are going to find out a lot about our GM this offseason. I personally think Gorton is going to make us very happy. |

Biggest mistake they can make is resigning Yandle, he's a very good offensive defensman but he's not a fit here, giving him $7 mil would strangle us |

My point from last night. These guys obviously care, there is no way they don't I just father time has caught up to them. They've played some many game over the past 5 years. Especially Lundqvist with the Olympics and whatnot. I just the window for this team to win a Cup has closed. When I type and think like this, obviously it's affected by what I saw this past week, but there is no rage or anger. But I think it'd cathartic to restart the direction of this franchise. |

It's so tough to figure Yandle out. Some nights he makes plays that nobody in the league can make. The breakout game is so important the style that AV wants to play. His point totals are definitely skewed IMO though. Defensively though he drives me insane and he real question is he worth 7 million that he most likely will get from some team? I personally don't think he is at all but I would do 5million per for 5 years if he wants it. No doubt in my mind Boston is going to be the front runner for him. |
